Excellent brace
I had to use this when I had work done on my face and nose. It was important to keep my head elevated -- what I mean is no looking down or letting your chin rest on your chest in sleep, because the blood flow would make my face pound. This brace was comfortable and did the job well, I can't think of anything that would have done the job better. It was the AI that suggested it, and I don't know what I would have done without it. They say it works good for sleeping on jet flights too. I expect it would, but I haven't tried that.

Great Neck support for travel
Okay, so I just got off a crazy long flight, like thirteen hours! Honestly, my neck usually kills me on those things, but this little gadget was a lifesaver. It's super comfy and actually kept my head supported the whole time, no pain at all! Plus, it folds up super small, so it's perfect for travel.

Not Suitable for Chiari Malformation
After reading that this product was recommended for people with Chiari malformation type I, I purchased the correct size. Unfortunately, it is not suitable. The Velcro closure leaves a gap and a hard edge at the base of the skull where the head meets the neck, which is exactly where support is needed. Instead of cushioning, it presses into that area and causes immediate pain at the back of my head, dizziness, and a heavy pressure feeling that spreads into my neck and head. If you have Chiari malformation or problems at the base of your skull or upper neck, I would not recommend this product. It may worsen your symptoms and is not worth the cost.

Good neck brace
This is a nice and comfortable alternative after a month of ugly, restrictive neck brace the hospital gave me. (Once the neck doc gave me the OK to wear this type of brace). This brace will gently and softly restrict your neck movements. I have even slept in it without issue. The only reason I'm giving it a 4 star rating is the velcro attachment is rather difficult to remove. There is no easy to grab tab to pull it off.

I have four - so yes I DO like them
I now have four of these - two Granite/Black and one each of the other two colors, I bought my first one several years ago from an in-flight catalog; the other three are recent purchases from Amazon. I have had some neck problems since a traffic accident nearly 20 years ago, which have become worse over the last five years even with fusion of three vertebrae. The Caldera Releaf collar is Not A Medical Device, but they have given me more comfort than any of the medical device foam collars I have had over those years. It is an actual engineered product (not just a block of foam wrapped in scratchy fabric and approved by the regulatory agencies.) The Releaf collar is designed for sleeping primarily while seated or reclining, such as on an airplane flight. (That is why I bought that first one several years ago.) The collar is fairly stiff in the vertical direction, in order to support your head comfortably when sleeping in those positions. I works wonderfully for that purpose. I have found that it also provides comfort during activities such as driving, working at a desk, reading or similar activities. I have found that it is uncomfortable to wear when exercising or laboring (it gets very hot and sweaty) or while lying down (it presses on the side of my neck too much when I sleep on my side.) The hook-and-loop fastener has about five inches (127 mm) of range. Worn correctly, so you can slip two fingers between the collar and your neck, it should not restrict breathing PROVIDED you have the correct size. (For example, I wear a US 18-inch neck size dress shirt and a Medium is too tight for me.) I find this to be very comfortable when used as intended, much more comfortable than the medical device collars. It is also less bulky than the medical devices. I clean these in the normal cold or warm water laundry (no chlorine bleach, and With the hook-and-loop fastener closed!) and air-dry them. I highly recommend them for anyone who needs head support while flying or driving, and for certain other activities.

Not what I expected
I purchased this brace for my mother. She likes the design, but says it doesn’t provide enough neck support. I’ve noticed that the brace does not have much length; it has to pulled tightly to fasten. This makes for an uncomfortable fit.

Relief...finally
I have terrible terrible chronic pain. It stems from my neck and then it pinches a nerve and then it tenses every muscle in my body. When I have a flare up it's extreme. I've been using one of those inflatable neck traction devices. Although it brings me relief it also makes me still feel tense. When I put this brace on I felt relaxed. It's not too tight. It's soft. And I don't feel constricted. I simply feel supported and relieved. I'm really really thankful that I ordered this. I'm not sure why anyone would give it less than five stars unless it just doesn't fit them right. I've used the standard neck braces before and they're very uncomfortable for me. They push my teeth together too much that I can't relax. There's just enough movement that I can move my jaw. I also can't eat food or drive in the standard neck braces. I could do both with this neck brace. Loving it!

Amazing little gadget - especially for those with a sore neck!
I love this pillow! I've gone through 2 of them, and could own a dozen. They work wonderfully, and I was going to buy them as gifts for people this year...but they've doubled in price in the past month. Not sure why. I had major cervical spinal surgery in May and still sleep with some kind of brace on, but this little "pillow" is perfect for traveling sitting upright or sitting anywhere that I might fall asleep upright. It keeps my head from tilting to either side, and mostly from tilting downward towards the front. It's also great for working on my laptop - keeps me from sitting in uncomfortable positions. The sizing can be a little confusing (and isn't really well-described anywhere...). If you have a smaller neck, regular is perfect. A large is a must have for men, or anyone without a thin neck. My neck was quite swollen when I first bought one, and I wasn't sure if it was the appropriate size - then as the swelling went down and now that my neck is back to normal size, I'm quite happy with it. I highly recommend this item ---- just not for $49.95! It's a $19.99 item on other sites and even from other sellers here. When I bought it, I got it for $19.95 with Prime shipping - what's up with this pricing???

Great for preserving posture and for plane journeys
Excellent neck collar product. After just a few days my neck arthritis has started to dissipate already. Very comfortable. I use it along with an inflatable neck collar. This is more to ensure your neck posture does not worsen. Would also use this on a plane to keep good neck position. Less dorky than the usual plane pillows. Likely will not correct any issues already in place but excellent for gently posture alignment.

Repeat Purchase: A Trusted Travel Companion Recommended by Friends
I ordered it based on a friend's recommendation, and we regularly use it for our flights. It has become our go-to gift for fellow frequent flyer friends. I'm now placing my third order.
