I am not a protein shake person, but I definitely wanted some of these shaker bottles to use for my overnight oats. The popular name brand lent their name to collaborate with a company for overnight oats. I love the concept, but I think these 20 oz shaker bottles are better quality than their name brand competitor. Let me explain (and these are all the reasons I have switched over to the 28 ounce shaker bottles as well). Just like the popular name brand bottles, these shaker bottles have rounded bottoms so that if you do use some powered mix, it won't get stuck in flattened corner crevices. The rounded bottom also makes cleaning a breeze no matter if hand washing or putting in the dishwasher. Like the competition, there is a nice spiral whisk to break up powders and help facilitate a total mixture of powders in liquid. The competition has a ball, and this whisk is dumbell-shaped. I rather like the dumbell-shaped whisk, but I think both are probably equally effective. It has a very nice "Houdini" hook that tucks away when you're not using it yet is readily available for carrying and transporting. The competition has also moved to a tucked-in hook on some of their bottles. In my opinion, these shaker bottles are similar in their leakproof ability as the major competitor. My experience is that I have not had any issues with leakage although some reviewers have commented on that. Also like the competition, they have a snappy closure that lets you know when the lid is closed. Unlike the competition, these lids will open a full 180 degrees, and as they advertise, there is a better area for nose space. Similar to their competitor, these shaker bottles are BPA free, and the lids and cups feel similar in density and durability. The 20 and 28 oz bottles are also calibrated on the side of the bottle to measure ounces. Both 20 ounce bottles are calibrated up to 16 oz. (The competition calibrates their 28 ounce shaker bottle to 22 oz, and Hydra Cup calibrates to 20 oz.) There are two main features that make the Hydra Cup a better shaker bottle. First, they have added an ice guard to many of their bottles. The ice guard is a disc that sits at the top of the bottle before the lid is put on. If you have ice added in your bottle, it keeps the ice from hitting the inside of the lid and then displacing water onto your face or clothes. The ice guard also acts as an additional agitator to break up powder clumps. It isn't as effective as the whisk, but it does add a second agitator. While I don't use the ice guard in the bottle when I am making my overnight oats, I definitely use them in the 28 ounce shaker bottles, and I bemoan that the competition doesn't have them. At this point, I refuse to purchase a shaker bottle that doesn't have an ice guard. The second main feature that propels Hydra Cup to the top of the shaker bottle pack is that all the Hydra Cup shaker bottles are stackable. Why didn't the competition make their bottles stackable? Real estate in a kitchen is premium, and I think this was the final feature that won me over to these shaker bottles. These 20 ounce bottles do serve as a great way to pack soups for lunch. I usually pour the contents into a bowl at work before putting in the microwave. For carrying contents, however, they are fantastic! I use these 20 ounce bottles for storing sauces and homemade dressings in the refrigerator. I have found so many uses for these, and they are now a staple in my kitchen!

I’ve gone through my fair share of shaker bottles, but the Hydra Cup ProFlow bottles are on a whole different level. From the solid build quality to the ProFlow mixer that actually works, everything about these bottles screams durability and performance. Cleaning is easy too—just a quick rinse or throw it in the dishwasher. If you’re serious about your fitness gear, this shaker won’t disappoint.

Total of cups received for the price is totally worth it. I have noticed some leakage but only if the cap is not fully closed. The cap is tough to close but once I know it's secure, there is no leakage. My protein shake is well mixed with little to no lumps and I love the fact that it's dishwasher safe.

I usually use the 36 ounce bottle by this manufacturer, which I have been very happy with. So, when I needed these smaller ones, I looked for the same manufacturer, hoping to get the same thing, just smaller. There was some damage during shipping, but he company did reach out to me to offer a replacement, so that is something I really appreciate. When I used one for the first, I noticed that the drinking opening is oval instead of round. You wouldn't think that would make any difference at all, but it is actually not as comfortable and easy as the round spout. The oval spout also seems to make it harder to click the lid closed. It was on probably my third use that I thought it was clicked shut, but it wasn't, and my smoothie splattered all over my kitchen as I shook it. One star off for the spout. And finally, the strainer insert that goes between the lid and the cup is not as good as the one in the larger size. The large one looks like a wagon wheel, but this one looks like a sieve. I guess it works fine, and maybe someone else will like it, so no stars off for this. Overall, these are decent shaker cups, just not as well-made as the larger ones made by the same company, which doesn't really make sense, but there it is.

Solid cups. We use these for our protein shakes. The grated top really does eliminate any of the chunks that you typically get in your blender cups. They are still new, but the tops can be little tough to open causing my drink to splash a little when I open. The adjustable ring is nice & doesn’t touch your nose when drinking, but you still get the drip on the top of the cap which I wish someone would figure out.

I haven't written a review of an Amazon purchase in a while. I'm writing this one today because it's been a while since I purchased something and it worked exactly as described. The size is exactly right for a regular protein shake. The whisk ball does in fact break up the protein power and mix the shake well - no lumps or clumps. A bonus for me is that little grid piece for the top of the cup - I like to put ice cubes in my shakes and not having to fight the ice as you drink your shake is awesome. There are 4 shakers in the pack and I guess whenever the plastic starts to smell funky (as all plastic cups do eventually) I'll just move on to a fresh shaker. For the price is this a really good purchase.

I was away and left my blender cup where I was. It was cheaper to buy 4 of these than have my one cup shipped. My one cup cost about $22. This one I got 4 for $29. I was a little worried they might leak because of the reviews. But they are solid and no leaking I love that grid because one of my protein shakes always sticks to the top of the cup and doesn’t mix well. This prevents it from happening. Delivery was super quick. I placed the order in the morning and they delivered that same day. I’m super impressed with these cups. I love that I have more than one. I don’t have to worry if I lose one.

They worked really well when used for a protein powder shake. No hards lumps left. Like that it is a set of multiple cups. Very well made.

Been using these for a few months now for my breakfast drinks. I have not had one issue with leakage, nor an issue with the lid not closing. They're a lil awkward to clean by hand, but the dishwasher does wonders with all the crannies! They're a perfect size for what I need, and I highly recommend them =)
