Great for re-tapping stripped outlet boxes!
Full disclosure, I bought this for one small home improvement job: the screw hole in an external outlet box stripped causing the outlet box to pull away from the house and allowing ants to get inside. I read that the easiest solution to this problem is to re-drill the screw hole and tap for 8-32 screws, hence the need for this tool. At $30 it seemed a little pricey but it’s much cheaper than an electrician (or exterminator). It cut the new 8-32 threads like a hot knife going into butter, which was good because the outlet was behind a large bush limiting my visibility and leverage. The new 8-32 screw fit snugly, and the ants are once again stuck outside. While I hope to never *have* to use this tool again, it’s a solid addition to my toolbox and I’d definitely buy again.

A homeowner's must have.
I do my own repairs. I know when to call a professional, but there's a lot I can do by myself. The 6-in-1 Tapping Tool is one of my must haves. I used another brand of triple tap (and still use it), but this tool doubled the range of thread sizes and still in only one tool. So, I bought it. Repairs involving stripped threads are common homeowner occurrences. Most of them are in places where a standard tap and tap wrench can't reach. And that's if you even own a tap set. The Klein tool solves that problem. It has the six most common standard thread sizes in use. And it's just a single, narrow, one-handed, easy to use tool that fits in a tool pouch. Repair threads in electrical boxes located in hard to reach places, threaded holes inside appliances, machines, and assemble it yourself furniture. It's only limitation (if used properly) is the amount of space behind the hole you are threading to allow the tap to move through the hole. It's a must have for a home repair toolkit. I recommend it without qualification. You can stop reading here, but if you want to how to use it properly, or why some reviewers probably broke theirs and gave it a bad rating, the next paragraph is for you. First, recognize the limitations of the tool. It's designed to repair damaged threads and to cut new threads in thin, soft steel. Breaking the tool in material too thick or too hard is not a tool failure: it's yours. Second, use it correctly. The tap must enter the hole at the same angle as the hole direction itself. If the tool is not centered and on axis when started into hole, the tap will try to thread itself into the solid side wall and snap off. When tapping a new, larger thread, remember to turn the tap backwards a half-turn after every two inward turns. This breaks and clears chips. If you jam the tap with chips, the turning force will snap the tap. Use oil, even if you don't have proper threading oil, to lubricate the cutting edges. Don't use lubricant and you'll dull the tap and shorten the life of the tool, making it harder to turn, not cutting threads as nicely, and you might snap it if the cutting becomes to difficult. Work smart and you will be happy you bought this tool.
