Logitech ERGO M575 Wireless Trackball Mouse - Easy thumb control

I first discovered trackball mice a few years ago and I've not looked back since. This being the latest version, I'm very happy with it. I did have the MX Ergo for a period but really didn't find the extra features warranted the extra cost, I just wasn't "WOW, this is so worth the extra £40" I had the M570 previous to this and that was good but this is better, here are my reasons why. If you're after a trackball mouse you can't go passed this. Having had it for 16 months (at time of writing) and used it daily I can't fault it. I found it easy to set up on my Mac devices. I have 2 I use it on, a laptop and a MAC mini (I'll come to these in a bit) without using the Logitech software. I guess they want you to use theirs but I just found it cumbersome and intrusive. I think I had to install initially but soon uninstalled it. The quality of the device is very good and robust having survived daily use. I travel a lot so it's forever in and out of a suitcase, on and off tables and all sorts of surfaces. I find (I'm right handed) I can rest my hand on top of the mouse and all the buttons, wheel and ball are situated perfectly for ease of use...and very easy to use it is. Now, back to the fact I use it on 2 devices. With it being USB AND Bluetooth this makes connectivity so much easier and quicker. I have the USB receiver constantly plugged into my MAC mini and use Bluetooth with my laptop. To switch between the 2 couldn't be easier either. Lift it up, turn it over and press the button, it lights up blue for Bluetooth and white for USB connection. The function alone makes me feel it's the most versatile on the market. Next to that of course is the on/off switch, use that and the battery seems to last forever. As you can see from the photos, it may be 16months old and travelled all over the world but it's holding up well with just a few nicks and where marks. I paid £29.90 and it's currently £49.99 and even at that price I feel it's absolutely value for money.

Perfect for a sofa layabout like myself, because it just sits there and you move your thumb instead of the whole hand, so it doesn't matter what surface you have it on. Over three years I've had this now and it's still going strong, never had an issue with it. I use it on two different laptops and given Bluetooth can be a bit weird about multiple devices I'm happy to say there are no issues at all switching between them (just hold the button down and add it as a device each time you switch). Takes no time at all to get used to as well. Definitely recommend it, really happy with it still.

Disclaimer: I'm a first time trackball user and by no means an expert. Also, for anyone else that hasn't used one before, I would like to add that using a trackball is not difficult or hard to get used to, in fact if you're comfortable with a trackpad using a trackball should feel like second nature after only a few minutes of use, certainly did for me. In my quest for the best and cheapest trackball mouse I purchased this logitech M575 and a Perimice 517. Both are of simillar build quality and weight, fairly hollow and cheap feeling plastic all around the main body, not what I was expecting from a brand like logitech. the logitech has a smooth matte texture while the perimice goes for a gripier matte textured coting that's a little closer to rubber. both are simmilar but the perimice gets grubier easier and the logitech is a little smoother, it's really just a matter of preference though. another thing that is a matter of preference would be the shape of the mouse. with my index finger over the left click the perimice was fairly comfortable for me and the extra widh of the design gives somewhere for my pinky finger to rest. with my index on the left click of the logitech comfort was simply awful with my index and middle fingers off angle from the buttons and my pinky with nowhere to rest. If however, I change my grip to have my middle finger on the left clik the comfort of the logitech was darn near perfect, all the buttons are within easy reachand all my fingers rest well on the body of the mouse. on the perimice comfort was eaqualy as okay as before, but not exceptional. I found myself prefering the logitech but adjusting to left click with my middle finger will be tough. The weird grip on the logitech does put the remapable function keys right under my index finger though wich is a huge positive. Unlike the logitech MX Ergo's single large rubber pad these mise use individual feet, on the logitech these feet have a matte finish and keep it firmly planted on a wide range of surfaces. the perimice feet are a glossy finish and I found it was more picky about surface, sliding around a little on my desk mat, the logitech had no such issues. Now, the trackball, the most important part of a trackball mouse. The perimice is rough, the ball feels smooth over lrge rolls but try to move it a small amout to highlit text or select a selection box and you feel the rough movement of the bearings and it becomes difficult to be precise as the mose jumps around, it feels almost like a scroll wheel, not good at all for controlling the cursor. The logitech mouse is fantastic though, almost too smooth., it can be difficult to be precise but in a completely different way, it's like a trackpad that's too sensitive with how smooth it is, much, much better than the perimice. The logitech has some cool features the the perimice doesn't though in the remapable buttons and custom sensitivity settings. the app in which you control these is really annoying and invasive on first setup, it begs for a whole host of data and seems to force you to create a logitech account with no option to not use one, if you close the browser window it opens when you click to create an account and back into the app it seems to work fine without the account. the app itself is really good too, super well designed, easy to use and good looking. something really annoying that might not happen with everyone is that my mouse didn't come paired to the usb reciever meaning I had to download the logitech unifying software and pair them up, this should be done in the factory as this could make the mice unusable for some or at least casue some annoying headaches, trackball mice are often used for applications where space is at a premium, these applications often make use of computers you can't install any old exe onto, enterprise solutions with admin passwords and backend systems not running a regular os like windows. these are the types of situations I would expect this mouse to be used with the usb reciever so for it to not be paired up out of the box is pretty attrocious in my opinion. anyway the actual product itself is pretty good and i would definitley reccomend it, just be weary of the software and know that it's not built great, some have complained of long term issues as well so, again, do be aware of these issues. Certainly better than the perimice though and probably also the other two designs of trackball mouse I found on amazon that were cheaper than this. p.s. There was no proper user manual in my box so the button on the bottom switches from bluetooth to usb reciever, the blue light means bluetooth and the white means usb reciever. if the light is flashing that means it is not connected and a steady light means it is connected. it also takes 1 AA battery and mine came with a GP branded one in the box.

Coming from a very old Trackman Wheel, I was essentially looking for something exactly like that but with a couple of additional buttons. The Ergo m575 is as close as you are going to get. It feels very slightly smaller than the Trackman and is wireless but those are the only differences aside from the two additional buttons. I have been using it every day for a month now, both for graphic work and gaming. I have seen complaints about the sleep mode being too aggressive and while it certainly is watchful, waking up just means moving the ball 1 pixel, if that’s the price of battery saving, it’s a price worth paying. The only gripe I have (and it’s barely worth mentioning) is that the forward/back buttons to the left of the left mouse button are perhaps too low down (the back button especially), you really have to bend your index finger to hit them but it’s fine, they are certainly convenient buttons but you don’t have to use them for anything if you don’t want the additional finger movement to be an issue. Reaching the back button can sometimes mean repositioning your hand to comfortably press it, depending on how your hand usually rests on the trackball. As I say, this is a very small issue and my only problem with the device. The movement of the ball has been very smooth and cleaning is very easy, you pop the ball out from underneath giving you chance to clean out any dust from inside and give the ball a wipe. The Logitech Options software allows you to assign the key presses for the forward/back/middle mouse buttons and you can set pointer speed here too, you can also use it to set up application specific profiles if you want to assign those buttons to different presses per application. Overall I’m very happy with this device so far, I have tried a few off brand Trackballs over the years while looking for a Trackman replacement and nothing comes as close as Logitech themselves.

Been doing a good job, needed to try this one due to limited hand movement. Been managing the track ball well. Would recommend.

Best mouse I have ever had for a PC.

I've used a trackball in the past, may years ago but for at least the last 20 or so years I've rarely spent more than the bare minimum on a conventional mouse. I went wireless for keyboards and mouse about 5 years ago. What this is leading to is that I would not have normally spent the asking price for the Logitech Wireless Trackball mouse. However, I am suffering from carpal tunnel syndrome and probably rts from nearly 50 years of using keyboards and nearly 40 years of using a mouse (I was an early adopter). Needing a trackball mouse the options are few - especially if you want wireless so I had to plump for either the Amazon Basics or this Logitech to get what I wanted. I'd used Logitech in the past and I know that their products are generally very good quality, so throwing financial caution to the wind I plumped for the more expensive Logitech trackball. In return I got a very nicely made trackball with some useful features. The software provided by Logitech allows me to set up the three 'function' buttons to streamline my activity, also reducing the strain on my wrist and fingers. Ergonomically, it fits my hand very well and keeps my wrist at a comfortable angle. I am not a Logitech fan boy but I can recognise good quality when I see it and if you want to treat yourself then I think you'll be pleased by the build, ergonomics and functionality of this mouse.

Was a great mouse, felt good to use and didn't get any wrist strain using this compared to the more common designs. Unfortunately the right-click button lost its click and stopped working consistently and I'm now shopping for a new one. Lasted about 2 and half years with fairly regular usage.

I bought this as a cheaper alternative for my beloved Elecom huge trackball. So far I am pretty impressed with the overall experience, it is not as comfortable as the Elecom Huge but for the price, this is more than enough and also more portable. In comparison: <Elecom Huge> Pros: The most comfortable trackball experience ever. Cons: Size is can be too large to carry around, The button quality is so-so. A bit expensive. <Logitech ERGO M575> Pros: Priced well Solid build quality Affordable Cons: Not as comfortable as the Elecome Huge My only issue is that I used the Elecom Huge before and it ruined me for other trackballs on the market.

Ich nutze seit 1995 einen Trackball, seit Logitech seinen ersten Trackman auf den Markt brachte.Und ich möchte nichts anderes mehr. Keine Maus, kein Touchpad kann es mit einem Trackball aufnehmen. Aber: Trackball ist definitiv Gewöhnungssache, und wenn man von einer Maus kommt, ist die Umstellung heftig, da gibt es nichts schön zu reden. Ich hatte den ersten Kontakt damals über einen guten Freund, und jedesmal wenn ich bei ihm am Rechner war, war es ein Drama. Ich weiß nicht, wie oft ich den gesamten Trackball über den Schreibtisch geschoben habe, dabei wild fluchend, weil sich der Cursor auf dem Bildschirm nicht bewegt hat. Aber irgendwann setzte die Gewöhnung ein, und wenn man den Punkt erreicht hat, will man nie wieder zürück. Entspannter kann man an einem PC nicht arbeiten. Kein nervöses Hin und Hergewedel mit dem Arm. Nie wieder Maus neu ansetzen, weil die Tatstatur im Weg ist, oder der Schreibtisch zu Ende. Ganz entspannt die Hand drauf legen und easy den Cursor mit der Kugel steuern. Es lohnt sich definitiv, sich durch die Umgewöhnungsphase zu kämpfen. Eine Einschränkung gibt es aber: zum Zocken klassischer Shooterspiele taugt ein Trackball nicht ganz so gut, da sind klassische Mäuse tatsächlich im Vorteil, aber bei allem anderen, vor allem bei Officeanwendungen oder klassischem Websurfen, und sogar bei CAD Anwendungen stinkt jede Maus gegen einen Trackball ab, wenn man den Umgang damit gewöhnt ist. Ich nutze nun wie gesagt seit fast 30 Jahren den Trackman von Logitech. In den fast 30 Jahren ist genau einer kaputt gegangen, das heißt, an meinem heimischen PC hängt nach fast dreißig Jahren erst der dritte Trackmann, die erste war noch kabelgebunden, liegt heute noch in der Schublade und funktioniert immer nich. Habe ihn damals nur ersetzt, weil ich einen kabellosen haben wolllte, zwecks aufgeräumterer Optik auf dem Schreibtisch. Der hier hier jetzt ist fürs Büro, weil ich zum 1.8. in einen Bürojob gewechselt habe. Wer wirklich bereit ist, sich auf dieses "Abenteuer" einzulassen: go for it. Wenn Du Dich durch die Umstellung kämpfst und durchhälst, wirst Du nie wieder was anderes wollen und nie wieder verstehen, wie Du jemals mit einer Maus arbeiten konntest.

Ormai è un pò che ho questo prodotto e non posso lamentarmi. Il vecchio non si collegava più al pc. Questo funziona bene e comodo sono abituata ad usare questo tipo di mouse ed è comodo quando hai poco spazio e non hai bisogno di muoverti con il braccio, cosa che odio tra l'altro. Consigliato. AGGIORNAMENTO AL 09.01.23 Ho avuto problemi riguardo alla connessione credo, ultimamente entra in crisi e non funziona a meno che non attacchi l'antennino alla porta diretta del pc, ma non sempre funziona, poi riprende da solo a funzionare. Bah. AGGIORNAMENTO AL 16.01.23 Dopo aver cambiato la porta di ingresso usb dell'antennino ed averlo utilizzato per qualche mese, ha ricominciato a darmi problemi, si spegne la luce sotto il mouse o comincia a lampeggiare e quando fa così o non funziona o rallenta ed impazzisce. Ho provato di tutto, ho sostituito le pile, ho pulito il mouse dalla polvere che si crea sotto la pallina, ma non c'era nulla in realtà perché lo tengo molto pulito e bene, ho provato a spostare l'antennino ad altre porte usb ma nulla da fare. Stamattina mi sono decisa a guardare quando l'avevo comprato e visto che la garanzia dura due anni ho provato a contattare l'assestenza pensando che magari lo ritirassero per l'assistenza e metterlo a posto, ma invece mi fanno il reso. Bene, meglio anche se scocciante, perché se dovrò ricomprarlo mi costerà 3 euro in più, che si non sono tanti ma solo perché c'è l'offerta altrimenti mi troverei a spendere dei soldi che non voglio. E' la seconda volta che mi capita con questa marca, la terza volta che compro mouse di questa marca e l'altro che ho da anni funziona alla grande ancora oggi. A questo punto devo essere proprio sfortunata. Ad ogni modo non dovrebbero durare così poco, considerando che mi ha dato dei problemi già tempo fa. Bene l'Assistenza Amazon come al solito, ma si rischia di passare per uno che rende la roba tanto per, con altri articoli ho avuto anche problemi ultimamente e questo non va bene. Amazon dovrebbe verificare più che i clienti i venditori che spesso ti mandano roba usata e addirittura non funzionante, ma mi chiedo che senso ha?!
