Excellent sound quality from this easy-to-use USB microphone
I bought this USB microphone after I read about it in ComputerActive magazine. I am a physician and post-doctoral researcher in medical informatics working on developing innovative applications for patient education. The article in ComputerActive magazine was about creating podcasts and this microphone was recommended as a considerable improvement on the cheap microhone built into the laptop / desktop. I do have a high-end microphone with an XLR connection but that needs a dedicated amplifier to provide an audio feed into a PC's sound card. This USB microphone has a PnP driver so it's ready for use as soon as you plug it in. I used it with the freeware audio editor, Audacity. Speech recordings are very clear, of high quality and free from background noise so I can't wait to use it for my podcasts. The microphone comes with foam windshield and I found the audio iinput level easy to set on Audacity. The PC I used was running the tried and tested Windows XP which I still use a lot. You certainly can't go wrong buying this microphone. I am evening considering using it for wildlife sound recording with it connected to a netbook and with the mike mounted in a home-made parabolic reflector!

Very impressive for the price, great for Podcasts
This is my first stand-alone microphone, having gone for the headset with built in microphone before. I purchased it specifically for recording podcasts. I find it much easier to use, and the quality of the sound recorded is excellent. I am using it with the free programme Audacity, and it does a great job. The mic is about 1 ft (c.31cm) away from me usually, but works just as well 2 ft (c.62cm) away. I am in a quiet environment with no ambient or extraneous noise, but when I was playing around with it with the television on, quietly in the background, the mic picked this up too, which is a good sign of its sensitivity but also an indication that it will be at its best in a quiet environment. I am so impressed for the price. I have it running through a USB hub, not plugged directly into my Windows 10 PC, and it is perfectly happy to function. A note on the settings described in the short user guide. Whilst the instructions are better than average, and I followed them to the letter and all worked well except for one instruction. When I checked the "Listen to this device" option as directed, the feedback was appalling. I immediately unchecked the box and suffered absolutely no loss of performance. Everything worked perfectly. On searching around on the Internet I found that other people had also had this experience and experienced no problems leaving the option unchecked.

Plug in, and record. Very cheap, but very good.
I’ve just started to make a few digital audio recordings for various projects at work, including some guided meditations, and a bit of singing for pleasure. As I’ve only just started to do this, I didn’t want to spend loads of money on a mic that I might not use all that often. I’m suitably impressed, as it hooks up to my MacBook 2017 ed and Logic Pro software without any trouble. However I have to use a USB to USB-C adaptor for my MacBook, but that’s no real issue. The mic records clearly and crisply. It’s quite sensitive and does pick up background noise easily, but I’m very much an amateur, so that might be due to lack of experience on my part. The mic and stand feel like they are both very robust. I’d highly recommend this product.

Perfect for me
A very fine microphone. I use it on windows 10 voice recognition. It performs very well in this role. It installed automatically and was recognised by the Speech setup process. Cortana understands everything I say clearly. The quality of recorded sound is also very good. It is sensitive enough to use as a desktop Mic at a comfortable distance. The build quality looks very good and the stand, which is criticised in some reviews, does not seem anything other than well made and sturdy, maybe the design has been improved.

A great general purpose microphone
Summary: - EDIT: not as resilient as I first thought - Surprisingly high quality build - Good sound quality for the price - Extremely easy to install - Comes with a wind filter EDIT: A month or two after purchasing this, the microphone has started outputting a loud, constant buzz which gets louder when I touch it. This seems to be a fault with the microphone and not my pc, since the replacement mic works fine. I suspect that a fault has developed with the wire. It's suffered occasional small falls to the floor, but nothing that I would expect would break it. I'm going to leave my original review as it was, since I'm aware that this could purely be bad luck and it really was a decent microphone before this happened. I am however dropping two stars from it, and will suggest that the microphone is not as resilient as I first thought. I can't really fault this microphone, the price seems pretty fair for what you get. Build Quality: I was surprised by how professional this mic looks when it arrived. The body has some weight to it, making it feel sturdy, and the legs give a little resistance when adjusted, so they keep the microphone in place fairly well, especially on a flat surface. I've seen some reviews complaining about the legs but I don't see the issue, they've worked fine for me and I've been putting the microphone on the arm of my chair! The mic also comes with a wind filter cover, for any of you who might be planning on using it outside. Sound Quality: I tested this by placing it on a desk in front of me and speaking in a soft voice, below the volume I would normally hold a conversation. It picked up my voice quite clearly, and I couldn't hear any trace of static/noise. I use the mic mainly for watching netflix with my girlfriend over skype and she hasn't complained about being able to hear the show from my end, so it seems to do a good job of filtering out background noise. She's also been able to hear me from around 5-6 feet away if I raise my voice a little, although she said it was obvious that I'd moved away from the mic. To give some idea of quality, I could imagine an amateur YouTuber using this with no problems whatsoever. I doubt you'll find PewdiePie recording with one any time soon though! Installation: It really is plug and play. I've used the mic on both Windows and Linux and in both cases I had to do nothing more than plug it in. If you've found this review helpful then let me know with a thumbs up! Likewise, if you found it lacking then please go ahead and click the thumbs down.

I'm certainly no Sound Engineer but this seems like a really decent quality microphone
As like a lot of people at this moment, all of my meetings are taking place via *insert respective video platform here* but I quickly realised that the in-built microphone on my work issued Lenovo laptop is terrible. Seriously, it sounds as though I am underwater! After some research, I believe purchasing a USB microphone was the best option and this one seemed to tick all the right boxes. Overall, I'm very happy. The microphone seems well built and was simply plug-and-play. The colour of the microphone I received differs slightly from the one pictured but I personally didn't have an issue with this. And, what about the sound quality? Friends, families and colleagues have all commented on the vast improvement in what I sound like during video calls and meetings.

Good for the price
My rating is a "for the price" rating. If you just want it for basic PC use for voice recognition or the odd Skype chat, it works well and picks up sound well even from a few feet away. It looks nice too, but the stand is very light and flimsy, and even a slight pull from the wire when trying to position it out of the way will move the stand. The microphone also doesn't stay angled correctly because the fitting is too loose, and I can't see a way to tighten that. The audio is "ok" but I do hear some distortion (nothing to do with my mic input settings) no matter how I set the levels. For basic use though, and considering the price, it's a perfectly usable microphone that will do the job, or as in my case, a stop gap until you can afford something better. If you plan to record yourself singing or record anything else in high quality though, I'd look elsewhere and pay more.

Solid Microphone
Bought this product for long calls on Discord and for work as well as gaming. Thing works great, amazing quality for the price. The stand is a fair size and keep the microphone firm on the desk, I knocked it over once and was a little worried due to the size of it but it isn't something I would worry about. Great range, great build quality, great sound quality. Would certainly recommend for anyone wanting a low price desktop microphone.

Gran compra.
Recomendado.

it does a very good job. I record my audio using Audacity which ...
I purchased this microphone to use for my youtube channel I recently created. I do not use it for anything crazy, no singing or recording music, for example. I simply use this mic to record me talking for my videos. This is a very inexpensive microphone that comes with a pop filter and stand. Its sole use is as a USB microphone as far as I can tell. In my opinion, it does a very good job. I record my audio using Audacity which I like a lot. I usually only add bass to my audio after recording which is standard for most audio. The sound is really clear and sounds natural, i.e. not compressed or high or low in pitch. It is fairly sensitive but if you have any background noise you can just use the noise reduction feature in Audacity to select the background noise in your audio and then cut out any background sound. I simply leave the mic on my desk a few feet away from me or so. The mic also is made out of metal and feels fairly durable, so I do not think you should have issues with it wearing out. Again, all in all I think this is a very good basic and inexpensive USB microphone and I would highly recommend it. In the picture attached, I included everything you will get. The microphone with stand and the pop filter which i have attached. For some reason the microphone works in audacity but will not engage when i record video on my webcam. I do not know if it engages with skype either, so keep this in mind and hopefully it is just a small problem i need to fix on my end if i wanted to use my mic with those programs. All in all this is a good affordable microphone. I recommend it for people who need to do small audio recordings that sound relatively clean. I think the microphone on your laptop is sufficient though if you are only using it for video or voice chatting. Nonetheless a great find!
