Can someone please tell me why do I have to keep replacing this switch every 10 to 12 months ? Is this a quality issue of the part or something else ?

Something in these Trailblazers likes to keep frying them. I've replaced multiple other electrical parts but keep swapping out a Switch every 6-8 months. Electrical Nightmare of a vehicle.

Does this fit a 2006 Chevy avalanche lt z71 4x4 truck my steering wheel want lock is this the problem after i turn the key to the off position

If you mean your steering wheel will not lock when your ignition is off then no this will not solve that problem
