The only thing I feel I must warn you about is , whilst ironing and using steam, you have to be very careful not to have your free hand near the iron as the iron board cover is so good at its job it intensifies the heat of the steam and I have learned my lesson the hard way ! Don’t be put off by this though because the way it holds the heat is the reason I get the ironing done so quick & effortlessly. The 50% off deal was a fantastic bonus, bringing the price down to just £28.68—truly great value for money. I purchased this Super Soft 5 Layer Turbo Ironing Board Cover just after Xmas (2025). The old one was the same make etc and had lasted for 3yrs + but had become stained etc. My ironing board is a Brabantia with a metal mesh base surface AND a steam generator iron pad on top. The new cover won't work well if it's just on the metal mesh base and it sort of defeats the object if you have to put a towel on the floor under the ironing board. It's not an Amazon issue, but I tried in vain to find a replacement steam generator ironing board under cover. Nothing available on Brabantia and couldn't find an alternative. It's a sort of honeycomb, foam/material base layer which makes all the difference when using a steam generator iron. there are "felt" versions available but these just soak up the steam, get wet and drip on the floor. When fitting the cover it's important to follow the instructions and pull the drawstrings together before fitting it to the board. If you try to pull the drawstring whilst the cover is laid flat on the board the liklihood is that the netting holding the strings will tear. The covers are good and long lasting if fitted well. Seems silly to say so but if you have to spend hours each week doing the bl**dy ironing its worth getting the equipment right, then you can enjoy the glass of wine and whatever is on the TV whilst you're ironing.

Great heat resistant large ironing board cover. Easy fit with handy elastic tightening straps, nice print colour/design. Nothing creases, a good quality product. Good price, cheaper than replacing the whole ironing board

This is totally fantastic; used with my steam iron, it "catches" and "returns" the hot steam, speeds ironing up so much. I was amazed how hot, how fast it all was. Raced through the ironing basket in less than 20 minutes! The previous cover was old, to be fair, but OMG. THis one is BRILLIANT.

Seriously worth the money. I hate ironing, I had managed to reduce my ironing requirements to 4 or 5 shirts a year, however, our 10 year old board cover was starting to disintegrate as school uniform now requires multiple shirts and pants a week. Looked at new boards, then bought this, after much internal strife on the cost. Buy it. It really does cut the time down. It really does improve the glide of a steam iron. It really will make ironing so much easier, you might start looking forward to it (at least until the novelty wears off). During term time, this item has improved the quality of my life and saves me at least an hour a week (yes I'm slow). Fit for our board was OK initially, but elastic straps and drawstring got it lovely and tight to a near perfect fit. The irony that the ruddy iron has packed up now, that went back nearly 2 decades...

I purchased this Super Soft 5 Layer Turbo Ironing Board Cover some 6 months ago, but have only just put it on my ironing board, which is a Brabantia with a standard metal mesh base surface. The board has given me over a decade of use and is still in top condition. This was the third time I have recovered it. I use a well known quality brand steam generating iron. I recognise many purchasers appear very happy with this cover, but I have safety concerns regarding steam burns. I don't intend to faf around returning it, and this review is to assist purchasers in their decision making. The cover is of good quality, and although it was a bit of a pain to fit with the pulling strings and straps, I have found after one use that the buckled surface has flattened well. The surface is described as steam reflective, presumably, to help prevent the problem of excess steam passing though the open board mesh and condensation dripping through, which does happen in ironing sessions with steam generator irons. I have countered this by putting a large beach towel over my carpet under the board which has caught any drips, and I wipe the metal board supports briefly when folding it up for storage behind a door. This has not been a major problem for me, but I felt the non reflective surface might help reduce this somewhat. I paid considerably over the odds for this cover, on the basis of the good reviews, and no one so far has mentioned any steam hazards, so maybe it's just me. My one attempt at using this cover on the board has not been positive. The reflection of the steam most certainly works effectively. So much so, in fact, that if I hadn't moved my face and hands away quickly I could have received an unpleasant burn initially. I cautiously proceeded with my ironing, but was subjected to such a steam bath that I abandoned it after 25 minutes. I never need to turn the temperature of my steam iron above the lowest setting which actually will generate steam, the "Wool" setting, and my iron has not suddenly started malfunctioning, so I must assume the reflective surface is the problem, for me anyway. I am short, just under 5 foot tall, and have lower back problems which make ironing much more comfortable if the board is at waist level. I'm presently sourcing another cover which boasts a thick felt pad to reduce the condensation problem, in the hope this will not reflect steam upwards so vigorously. There is nothing wrong with this cover, other than its over enthusiastic reflection upwards of steam, but please bear this in mind in relation to your own situation.

Good fit but needs cinching elastic to hold in place. Nice quality good thick material. Made ironing faster. Nice looking fabric with a pretty pattern. Good value for the quality.

Paste als een handschoen, zo blij mee. En lekker dik dus heerlijk zacht strijken. De span-elastieken zijn echt een toevoeging. Had goedkope variant geprobeerd, wat een ellende. Een A-Mark als Leifheit kan je tenminste op vertrouwen !

My old cover got thinner and got ripped off. This is a good cover, fits great, thick and nice
