Not like condensed milk. Runny, brown in colour, with taste, aftertaste,&texture that is revolting.
OMG what can i say.... I was really looking forwards to trying this, i opened the can and was faced with deep brown, very runny contents, that smelt and tasted absolutely awful. It had the most disgusting texture and aftertaste. I was making home made baileys, and even with 3 tablespoons of chocolate syrup, 2 teaspoons of vanilla essence, 230ml of double cream and 300mls of jameson whiskey, and 4 espresso coffee's (usually just use 1). I could still taste the revolting aftertaste. I know it was only cheap, but seriously, ive made better condensed milk myself, with coconut milk and raw sugar ( which is vegan i believe). I would seriously explore any other avenue, even making your own condensed milk ( it takes a bit of a while, but is very easy and cost effective). You can make it with coconut milk, and probably other non dairy based milks, but it tastes much much better. This stuff was absolutely, truly and utterly revolting. What a waste of jameson, and the other ingredients.....

Works well
This worked well in my vegan Flapjack recipe. The flavour is very different to regular condensed milk, tastes like rice.

Just as nice as the original.
Great for cheesecake, and caramel shortbread.

Very different from condensed milk
I'm Brazilian and vegan. Brazilians love their condensed milk, so I was really excited to try this. The consistency of it is very different, being more solid, not runny or creamy. It reminds me of lard. Fine, as long as the taste is good... But, again, quite different. It has a rice/nutty taste. I've made Brazilian brigadeiro and beijinho to try. After cooking it with chocolate and coconut, the taste improves, and the consistency actually works. So it looks fine and tastes ok. It was good to try it, but I'll give it a while till I buy it again, hoping the taste will have improved.
