iFixit Minnow Driver Kit: Pocket-Sized Screwdriver + Portable Bit Set

I’ve had the iFixit Minnow Driver Kit for a while now, and it’s easily become one of the most useful tools I carry with me. I was gifted this kit originally, and after years of use — from opening up laptops and phones to tightening small screws on gadgets and reef equipment — I liked it enough that I recently picked up another one as a backup. Despite its small size, this driver kit feels solid and well‑made. The compact design slides easily into a pocket or tool roll, and the magnetic bits stay secure when you’re working in tight spots. I especially appreciate how versatile it is — from electronics to small appliances, this kit handles it all without clutter. Pros: – Extremely portable and pocket‑friendly – Magnetic bits make precision work easier – Great quality for the price Cons: – Because it’s compact, some larger fasteners might need a separate tool Bottom line: If you want a reliable, pocket‑sized driver set that doesn’t skimp on performance, this iFixit Minnow kit is a solid choice. If you have never bought iFix it tools you should. The tool and bits are of high quality. I am sold on this company's products. High precision and very solid tools but the tool isn't industructible so the will wear out but I wouldn't hesitate to buy again.

I purchased this for the P5 Pentalobe bit to open my 2016 Macbook Pro. In 2010, I purchased a larger set from iFixit, but back then Apple was using Phillips bits and no proprietary screws. I thought about cheaper options for pentalobe bits or drivers but ultimately decided to purchase this iFixit kit, in part because of their customer service - they replaced the handle in the old kit twice (first with the original style, then second time with the newer style)! I have purchased multiple repair kits and parts also, and always satisfied with it, especially something goes wrong and need to reach out to their customer service. This kit is nice in that easier to remove the bits from the box, compare to the old one. I probably won’t use it often - it’s definitely nicer than what I need for hobby use - but it’s one of those things that’s better to have and not need than to need and not have.

purchased this to take cover off MacBook related to drive and recycle. as a mechanical Engineer i appreciate quality tools, really really nice set with magnetic locking cover, took less than a minute to take apart mac laptop, and tools are fine mesh type design / ie no sloppy fit that will strip something out or bend the tool, etc. quality little driver and magnetic cover on set fits in my pants pocket easily & driver is magnetic so bits stay put, tray top doubles as a place to hold small parts in little grid fashion non static good stuff....... can't say enough about this little tool set, wish i had bought it sooner, as in past have wasted money on small driver sets, and they don't last and have tail light warranty, this ifixit set is solid & they stand behind their tools - highly recommend!!

Love my Pro Tech Toolkit so much that I want to take it with me pretty much everywhere, but I need something compact and lightweight. Enter: the Minnow. This has many common bits including Torx security bits, and I can always use bits from other kits to customize it for my needs. A little disappointed that the driver is polymer, but it feels sturdy, and the case will fit the small aluminum driver from my other kit if I want :3

Great little set. I have some of their other kits as well I use at work for computer hardware. This brand is usually a good value for the price. Have not had any issues with any bits or drivers.

I've used an iFixit Essentials toolkit for about the past year to fix and upgrade a variety of devices, and have been incredibly satisfied with the quality and durability of its components. It served me so well that when I learned about the iFixit Minnow, a pocketable version of their modular screwdriver, I picked it up immediately. The Minnow kit comes with sixteen driver bits that will get you into about 99% of anything you'd want to, with four Philips and three Flathead bits, six varieties of Torx security bits, two Tri-point screws and two Pentalobe screws that will assist in opening phones and game consoles, and a standoff for other phone-related use. (As a tip that I was shocked to learn, try popping off the blue bit of the screwdriver! It has storage for three bits, as well as a tool to eject SIM card slots for phones.) The kit comes with all sixteen of these bits and the screw handle to carry them in a hard plastic case, protected by a magnetic lid that can also be used as a screw tray. The Minnow screwdriver kit isn't as fully featured as some of iFixit's other kits, like their Pro Tech toolkit or even some of the bigger screw kits like their Manta or Mako, but it isn't really supposed to be. I usually carry around a Philips head screwdriver in my bag, and working with tech it's come in handy more times than you'd think, but switching it out for the Minnow has offered more flexibility and durability, even if I'm not needing everything in the already limited kit. My one big gripe with this kit at least, though, is that the included mesh padding seems to pop out almost every time I take the screwdriver out. Picking the handle out of the base often brings with it the mesh padding, which I largely blame on the small clearances on the top right. I believe this could be fixed with some kind of glue along the sides, and iFixit does have a lifetime warranty on their products so if it broke I believe they'd replace the part, but it's incredibly irritating when you're just trying to pull your screwdriver out quickly. Besides this issue, the Minnow kit is an excellent accessory to a larger iFixit toolkit, and I'd recommend it for anyone who does repairs and/or maintenance on any regular basis!

No me había interesado comprar alguna herramienta de esta marca iFixit, solo he usado marcas como Jakemy, Trupper, Stanley, desarmadores sin marca, que fui comprando en tiendas de electrónica de la CDMX hace muchos años, los cuales duraron poco porque se desgastaban u oxidaban con frecuencia. Así mismo, lo que hace que una herramienta en este caso para uso en reparaciones de electrónica no dure lo que se puede esperar, es la calidad del acero con el cual se construyen sus puntas, cuando se insertan en el tornillo, la mayoría comienzan a despostillarse, al grado que al usarse frecuentemente, ya no sea viable por que maltratan el tornillo y puede ser complicado quitarlo. Compre este set de desarmador con 16 puntas intercambiables, porque son de acero S2, y esto asegura durabilidad con el uso constante en mi taller de reparaciones de equipos de cómputo. Existen otras marcas en el mercado, pero viendo reseñas y videos de herramientas iFixit, me parece que es de lo mejor, y lo confirmo, al abrir este set que compre, modelo Minnow, la calidad es excepcional, desde el estuche magnetico, y dentro en una espuma, vienen las puntas y el desarmador, el cual, aunque es de plástico, tiene una calidad sobresaliente, el grip moleteado es de hule antiderrapante, permitiendo una perfecta sujeción al desatornillar. Es ligero, pero de buena dureza. Las puntas tienen un diámetro más largo para usar en orificios más profundos. En verdad me ha gustado este pequeño set, y creo que compraré otros modelos y demás herramientas para actualizar las que ya tengo. Había comprado hace unas semanas, otro set de la marca Jakemy, muy completo, pero las puntas son solo de acero cromo-vanadio y en el primer uso, paso lo de todas, se despostillo la punta al insertar en el tornillo de una laptop, y por eso busque otras opciones. Recomiendo este set de desarmador, es calidad precio.

It's good, it's cheaper than the other ifixit kits, and it has the screw bits for most cases you'd need. No reason to spend more money on the other ifixit kits unless you know they have a screwbit you need or you know you'll make use of the suction cups or the wedgers or the other peripherals. It's also magnetic, both the case locking and the screwdriver. Only issue with the case is the screw driver tray which is a bit small and the screws get magnetized/sticks to the case magnetic part but for the price its ok.

كان عندي عدة من ابو 5 وما تفك اللابتوب لدرجة ان انمسح واحد من البراغي، دورت ولقيت هذي الكل يمدحها واصلية وفكيت اللابتوب باسهل ما يكون وغيرت المعجون ونظفته ورجعت ركبته بسهولة مرة وفيه ضمان مدى الحياة كمان انصح فيها وبشدة

i honestly have been thinking about buying 2 more of this set and a few larger i fixit kits they are so reliable and just work
