Great flash but not cheap
All around great flash, it fits well with my a7r5 and is fairly small and simple. It is good but pricey.

POWERFUL LITTLE FLASH
It's a mighty flash for a little guy. The only draw back is that it used AA batteries and not a lithium battery as others do. You can get the rechargeable ones. It's seems like a bit thirsty so bring plenty of batteries and you will be fine. I am glad it's a low profile flash as the last two Godox flashes broke off at the shoe. I like the locking mechanism on this one. I am pleased with it so far.

Flash diffuser breaks easily. Thin plastic
This flash works well and its one of the smallest. It works well with the sony a7c and a7cr. I ended up dropping the camera and the flash diffuser broke off the flash, very sad. Sony should make their flash more durable. Other than that, I'm happy with its performance.

Simple setup
Nothing compares to First Party flash. No Godox, No pro foto.

Good Quality Flash
I purchased this flash for my Sony camera and it works as advertised. I had no real expectations of this flash other than to use it as a fill flash. It does the job well and its light weight. I have only used it a few times since purchasing it, but I can say that it meets my intended requirements and does a great job.

Waste of time and money/ product doesn’t work
Selling a knowingly not working product is a waste of time and money on both ends. Been waiting on my refund for about a month. Don’t purchase from this buyer

Not consistent with wireless
It works on camera with A7C wonderfully but wirelessly not so much. It is the reason I bought this. Battery life is fine.

Worth it for the extra Sony only flash features
I own and use a lot of Godox flashes, but I've never been 100% satisfied with their on-camera flashes. I own and use the V350S and it works well, but the HVL-F28RM is a step above. I trust the TTL more with the Sony flash and the benefit of being able to set a custom auto ISO limit when the flash is on may be worth the price alone. The Godox on auto ISO will range to the limit of the camera's auto ISO setting...which is a pain for event shooting. With a newer body like the 6700 or a74 you can set a limit specifically for the flash...awesome! Turn the flash off and the regular auto ISO range takes over, turn the flash on and the flash auto ISO range takes over. Even though this option is available in the camera menu when the Godox flash is attached, the flash camera doesn't use the flash ISO range.

Limited value for small Sony flash
I bought this unit for a specific purpose - as a radio controller for my larger Sony flash (the excellent 60rm2). As a commander, the 28rm is fine and cheaper than the Sony dedicated flash trigger (rc1m). I cannot recommend the 28rm as a standalone flash unit though because there is no vertical bounce ability - only horizontal. Why this is I cannot understand because it is a rather expensive item. Though compact, it is not very powerful and a better, cheaper option is the Godox TT350s. The TTL functions are capable and accurate in horizontal positions because you can bounce. But not so for vertical orientation because you can’t bounce upwards, only sideways. It comes with a built in diffuser, a stand and a soft pouch. I have a bag style diffuser that I can repurpose for vertical bounce but that is only a compromise. I probably won’t bring this as a travel flash due to its limitations. So I can only give this a partial, lukewarm recommendation as a radio controller. If you really want Sony TTL metering, you are better to shell out more for the better and reasonably compact 46rm flash.
