Why does this even say it's wireless when it's clearly a cord?? a literal wire??

Yeah, but the wire doesn't have any pesky wires to get in the way of one hooking it up from the USB port to the FireTV Stick.Update: On May 29, 2017 (for reference in looking for the comment), some happy customer actually said, "This is an awesome wireless cable for Fire-Stick and it works perfectly."

Question 2

I tried using just the 3ft cable plugged in to the usb port on the tv, the screen reads 'insufficient power to fire stick. how can this cable be any ?

I think using this cable is questionable.  The Fire Stick wants 1 Amp and most USB ports supply 500 mA max.  The stick comes with a separate power supply, use that.  Or use a cell phone charger producing more than an amp.  If you don't have an outlet close enough then use a longer cable.   But's let's say your TV does provide "enough" power, it might be enough most of the time but fail when the fire stick needs more.  Borderline power generally means flaky behavior.  You need a supply that has adequate overhead to cover anything the stick can draw.

Question 3

I want a firestick that doesn't include alexa. i definitely do not want alexa. how can i learn the technology on this?

Alexa is now basically unavoidable if you do business with amazon- even if you do not have an Alexa capable device.  Amazon now inserts "Alexa suggests you reorder xxxxx" into any random search with no opportunity to turn it off if you are logged in as a user.   Amazon announced recently they now have "suggestions from brands" inserted into any question you may ask any Alexa device- and according to Amazon, that's 'not an ad'.   Amazon clearly intends to make Alexa ubiquitous and imbedded into every device you can name, including cars, hpuses, apartments, etc..  Good luck with trying to learn the technology-

Can i put this in a tv in a different room and use the firestick remote i already have for both tvs?

Yes, if you mean using the same firestick on a different tv. The remote goes with that particular firestick, no matter what tv you connect it to.
