Love this keyboard!
Compared it to my Kawai acoustic piano, the key bed on this one is heavier, but is still enjoyable to play. The keys do feel very close to those on my Kawai. Sounds are really good and do sound much better through headphones that through the on-board speakers. The speakers are bottom facing and do not sound great if you're playing over anything but a reflective floor (hardwood, tile, etc.) But the keyboard does have jacks on the back for studio monitor speakers. I love playing it with the headphones on because it doesn't bother anyone else who may happen to be home. That said the key bed does make some noise and may be a problem late a night when others are sleeping. Just something to be aware of. The concert piano sound is where this one shines. The other sounds are really good for the most part. Only thing I wished was that Roland had a key map available for some of the other sounds like for the drums or sound effects. I also like the fact that you can use this keyboard as a controller for a DAW. I'm an intermediate player just getting into using one and not having to buy another keyboard controller right away is a plus.

Beginner, with the most awesome beginner's keyboard
JUST got it to learn how to play. I'm retired and it has always been a goal of mine to learn an instrument. The keyboard is AMAZING. the key feel is outstanding, the sound is absolutely perfect. I have yet to explore everything, but I do look forward to playing Bach using the harpsichord sound :)

Satisfied customer
It was everything it was purported to be. Sounded great! I played on this piano every day since I purchased it for at least 1 to 2 hours a day, for the last 2 or 3 years. It still sounds great and plays great. I'm very satisfied.

Very nice KB minus no mode status an terrible sustain pedal.
I like the voices, not so much the downward facing speakers, OK on hard floors, but the available line outs can fix that. Personally, the key action was my biggest concern, me always on an acoustic tall upright or grand. I am not disappointed. It has great soft and loud touch feel and response, except the harpsichord voicing. I noticed that on long sustain, the pitch can drift upwards towards a 1/2 step, maybe some acoustics do that also. Good tremolo or Leslie sound on many tone selection. I havenโt had this for even a full day, so Iโll need to drill through the user manual and I havenโt tried their user ap which should give more control. My biggest issue is that it doesnโt indicate which voice youโre using. There should be an LED above the voicing mode currently selected. Especially for play testing voicing. You canโt tell if it got the change you need until you play a note, which could be too late in a gig. One more thing, the music stand is too short. Itโs 7-1/2 inches tall(I measured it), all my printed sheet music, staff paper real book an whatever is 8-1/2 x 11. It should be taller, and wider would be even better. Overall, acoustically and mechanical a great tool. The sustain pedal is junk. First off, itโs binary, either on or off thereโs no partia sustain as on an acoustic. It slides all over the floor, which could be fixed with rubber feet. I will be upgrading. Make sure you check pedal polarity, the Yamaha Fc3a pedal works backwards and has no polarity switch to fix this incompatibility, so it sustains until you push the pedal, thus backwards operation on this piano. I tried it and will be returning it. The Roland DP-10 fixed my pedal problem, then I go to amplification. I first got the Donner DA-35 and (without proper performance specification) worked pretty well, but I noticed heavier key sound and unwanted sympathetic harmonics, so I ordered the Roland RC-220 amp (again no performance specifications) to see where the problem was. The Roland amp did the same as the Donner, minus heavy key sound, but as to the ringing harmonics. Both not at typical sympathetic frequencies of the fundamental. Bad dissonance, mostly at F# below middle C. I e-mailed Roland and we will see. With their KB and amp you would think there is a fix.

Perfect for me
Learning to play the piano again and it works great for my use. It sits out of the way and doesnโt look bad. Sounds good to me and I like the different volume options. The keys feel like a good real weight to me.

I highl recommend the Roland FP-30X
Older adult male here. I'm a beginner and I really love this Roland FP-30X. Very satisfying purchase. The free 90 days of Skoove online piano lessons that come with it are excellent as well. I enjoy studying with Skoove on the piano. It's very interactive, not just programming. I researched fairly extensively prior to buying but you know that feeling when you are buying something on Amazon for $700 and you're not sure if it's the right one for you or if you will like it. Well, this is the right one and I really like it. And it has a 30 day return policy.

Excellent product
Incredible piano for people who are serious long term pianists whose lives are on the go. I would even recommend it as an investment for new pianists wanting to improve.

You will love this!
Simply great specially for a newbie like me. I had ordered an FP10x but the seller kindly notified me that the FP30 was available for the same price. A great deal I couldn't refuse. The keyboard is amazing leaning towards a "less is more"...no digital screens, no complications- which is what I sincerely appreciate.

Weighted keys and great tone bank
Love my Roland keyboard. I'm a late bloomer but giving it my all to learn the keyboard. The Roland keyboard has great features and makes it a joy to use. I love the weighted keys and I did purchase a pedal that works very well with the sustain feature as well. Pianote is a great site for learning and makes it very easy to learn.
