Does this "show" after being painted, like the quick-shot stuff does?

not if you let it dry and sand it properly. make sure you make it as smooth and even as possible when applying. After sanding, and painting it is not visible.

can this able to use hand to put on the surface or have to use tools ?

Depending on size of the job or how often you want to add the products, you could use your hand. If it's a big job, I would suggest using a tool, but I have always used my fingers to apply this product. The biggest job I have used it on required have required me to apply numerous coats, as without a tool, you will not be able to get a smooth lay of the product with your hands or fingers. Since I'm using for personal use at home, I don't mind if my job takes a week or so, without multiple applications. For example, to repair a hole in the wall, from a door stop plate I pulled off, the plates adhesive took off a good chunk of the wall off, a little more than a quarter inch deep and about the size of my hand. I applied drydex a bit at a time, to get nice thin smooth layers. After about 10-12 applications over a week or so, I had a slight mound over the area, at which time I was ready to sand it level. It was perfectly smooth and level, at which time I painted it with 2 layers. Another reason I don't like to use big chunks at a time, with tools, you will not be able to fill in all the nooks and crannies of your hole with a putty knife, unless you go slowly and work it in. Even then, when you use a lot of drydex, expect it to shrink as it dries. This might cause you to have to add more with a 2nd coat or just add a good mount, where you can just sand it down to be level.

How much coverage will I get from this size?

I was able to spakle 4 holes plugs that were 6" diameter using about 1/8" of the tub. Including 3 applications for finishing and sanding.

Trying to cover styrofoam diorama with this, can it be made watery to go on smoother or is this clumpy

I don't know how watery it will get, but adding water does smooth it out. A lot!

This works great for small patches. I used for holes in wall from hanging pictures. Goes on smooth, not too thick, easy to sand down, and drys quickly. I like that it turns white when dry…no guessing involved.

Like Clock Work.

This product has an amazing technology that changes color to indicate when it’s dry. It’s easy to use, easy to paint, and requires hardly any sanding if you know how to use a potty knife. It’s also easy to wipe with a damp sponge or cloth to smooth out everything and make it flush. Overall, it’s a great product that I would buy repeatedly.
