Fine Stone

I have been using the sharpmakervsystem since 1987. Purchased in a mall in Colorado one Christmas season. I have found this system is the best way to sharpen serrations on a knife blade, and sharpen tough steels. Unfortunately on a OIF tour on 2005 a white and a brown (fine and medium) sticks were broken. The kit is once again complete!

They seem to work as well as the originals that came with the kit I purchased many years ago. The originals were concave on all sides. These seem to sharpen as well as the originals, but only time will tell if they outlast the originals. So far, no complaints.

Great quality

No doubt the quality of the stone is very good. But it does not have a sharp edge to allow me to do some gunsmithing work. In the product description, it did not say anything about the edge. Since the square one has sharp edge, I thought this one would have sharp edge too.

Spyderco White Sharpening Stone Fine-Grit

I was given a Spyderco Sharpening System after the previous owner somehow broke one of the fine grit ceramic rods. This sharpening system is one of the easiest and most effective sharpening systems I have ever seen, but the previous owner felt it was a loss because of the broken part. Obviously, he wasn't aware that replacement rods can be found on Amazon. I have just finished sharpening two of my most-used kitchen knives only 15 minutes after I got this brand new replacement rod in the mail, a full two days faster than originally expected. The new "stone" (rod) helped me to bring both knives to chef-level sharpness. The price for this rod was excellent, especially as it included shipping. I highly recommend the vendor, Green Valley Place, for their prompt shipping and very fair price.

This was a replacement for the one I dropped a few years ago. It works great, but you need the whole set to use it properly as this is a replacement stone for the set and not intended to be used by itself. That being said, it could be used for cleaning up rough edges that you can reach with a hand stone.

I purchased the knife sharpener a couple of years ago and it works spectacularly well. Well, up until I dropped one of the rods. And it hit the floor. And it shattered. Into itty bitty pieces. Did I tell you that they are fragile? Don't drop them. They'll shatter. But other than that, my knives have never been sharper.

Eigentlich ist der Stein super, jedoch finde ich es völlig daneben, daß hier nur ein einzelner Stein verkauft wird! Die Steine werden im Sharpmaker schließlich paarweise angeordnet... Ergo: Die Steine (plural) kosten gar keine 18€ sondern satte 36€ und das wiederum finde ich eine Frechheit. Dennoch habe ich mir jetzt noch einen zweiten Stein geordert, wenn auch widerwillig.

Purchased this to replace a broken stone in a old Spyderco sharpener, it was exactly like the original, worked great.
