LIELONGREN [Newer] USB Computer Speaker for Desktop, Laptop Speaker, PC Speaker, Small Computer Soundbar with Hi-Quality Sound, Loud Control Volume, Rich Bass

I got these on a bit of a whim as I had been using the AUX input on a Bluetooth speaker, which was a bit crackly. I moved that to use on a small TV in my home office in the warmest room in the house. So I found these with a good price and good reviews. Easy setup on my Win10 PC just plugging into a USB port on the back. (They specifically recommend in the instruction card to plug it in the back rather than the front, not sure why.) System recognized the USB speakers and set them automatically to the default speakers. Volume controls on the device sync with those in Windows, which is nice for not having to balance the computer's volume setting against that on the speaker - they are one & the same. However the Mute button works independently from the Mute button on the PC. But a red light comes on when the Mute button is pressed on the device. (I rarely if ever mute the computer speakers anyway.) I ran a few quick sound tests using videos from The YouTubes. Very clear sound, no distortion, no crackling, no buzzing. Very loud; I turned it down to 50% for normal listening volume. Not much in the way of bass; I tried turning on Bass Boost in Windows settings but negligible difference. Also not much stereo channel separation, so sound is a bit more "central". Hard to tell Left from Right. But can't complain for the price and convenience. I like them for the purpose and will keep and hopefully enjoy them.

I have been using a JBL speaker with my computer because it's what I had. It had to be powered by a USB and connected with a headphone cord. Two things I hated about this setup: 1. the JBL turned off by itself after inactivity. 2. It didn't work well with my USB switcher when I needed to switch what computer everything was connected to. This speaker solves both problems and requires no setup other than specifying to use this speaker in your settings. No more are the days of not hearing Teams calls coming in or alerts on my computer because the speaker turned off and I had no idea. I love that it's 100% USB and doesn't require a headphone jack to connect. I love that this doesn't turn off. It's always on. I don't have to think about it. Though this could be a downside for those who work on laptops without always being plugged into a main power source. I love that it's slim and non-obtrusive on my desk. I hate a cluttered desk. I barely notice this thing is there. I love the touch tap buttons on the top. It's one of the features I loved about my JBL. Having the volume buttons on the device itself allow me to quickly turn up, down, or even mute. No having to fumble with my mouse and find the computer's sound control. I love that there is a red light that appears and stays on when you mute. It's very easy to see if I forgot to unmute (for example, when I'm in a work call and a get a call from my kids' school and need to mute my mic and my speakers so I can hear on my personal phone) As for sound quality. It's good enough. My sirius XM music sounds just fine. It's not a robust or surround sound by any means. But it sounds good enough for the music I play when I'm in deep focus mode. I am hard of hearing and wear hearing aids. This speaker can get quite loud. I have no complaints. Great little speaker for work for a great little price. It's exactly what I was looking for.

Took it out of the box and it worked perfectly ony Windows computer with no setup required. Positives: small size, easy to use mute, up and down volume, good sound (voices only - I don't listen to music. Negatives: No on/off button (only mute). Don't like the USB-3 cable - I wish I could plug my own USB cable into the box.

This is the third speaker that I've tried, and I'm keeping this one. Why? (1) It has a short cord (unlike one of the speakers I returned, which had long, tangly cords); (2) It has volume control on the top of the speaker for easy volume adjustment (unlike the other speaker I returned, which required me to change the volume via my computer); (3) the sound is pretty good for the reasonably priced speaker that it is. The sound quality is better than the one I returned. (4) It is one speaker, so it's easy to handle, unlike the system that has two speakers, which is more of a hassle to move two speakers around.

Very decent computer speakers. Better highs/lows than my old orb-style. They'll never get loud enough for my personal taste, but then I've yet to hear laptop speakers that do. Exactly as advertised. Good value for the $$

The problem I have is upon sleep-resume from a desktop, the speaker isn't recognized and will need a restart to be used again. Several reviewers have mentioned this already. Which is annoying because I don't constantly restart my machines nor want to. Think how many times you may be temporarily away from the desk, lose audio upon return, and need to restart with say 5 active apps and 20 tabs unsaved. I think this is great for a laptop that you set up somewhere, plug in, and pack away after use. It's also generally less of a pain to reconnect/disconnect cables from a laptop as opposed to the cable mess behind my case. When it works, it's solid. Fits either standard USB-A or USB-C (adapter tethered onto the cable). Maybe there's a few revisions floating around but mine had the touch sensitive buttons with bold white outlines, not actually my preference but rating is not affected by this.

I didn't expect much out of this thing. I just needed something small and effective for just basic sound. But it has surprised me. It's actually pretty decent. You can't expect much by way of volume or anything of course, but it still gets pretty comfortably loud if you're close. I was also surprised at the sound quality. It's really not too bad for something this cheap and minimal. I did get a tiny bit of clipping in one song, but everything else seemed fine. There is decent clarity and the bass reflex port works quite well it seem giving it surprisingly decent lows for something with 1" or so drivers. This is no audiophile item, but it has absolutely exceeded what I expected for this price.

This speaker works beautifully! Really great sound. Had to review it because I'm so impressed with the quality for the very low price. Bought one almost 4 years ago, and it worked great, even though I dropped it several times moving stuff around. After much abuse it finally gave out, so I'm looking forward to several more years of a new one! Thanks!
