Great tool for learning mushroom cultivation
I have already learned a lot in the first 40 pages of this book written by well known mycologist Paul Stamets. It teaches you all about mushrooms from teaching the ways mushrooms operate, the species of mushrooms and how to properly cultivate. I’m still reading the book, but it has already inspired me to keep learning more. Highly recommend the book if you get it for a fair price!

Absolutely Love This Book (I’ve Even Gifted Copies To Friends and Family)
I have a degree in microbiology and grow culinary mushrooms at home as a hobby. This book taught me everything I needed to know! My favorite part is the chapter with any kind of problem you might have listed in a table with the cause and the solution for easy reference.

Informative!
Absolutely recommended for anyone trying to understand how to grow mushrooms, and understanding mushrooms in general. Invaluable, accurate information. Although his description of commercial growing is geared towards large operations (pretty sure I've lived in apartments smaller than his autoclaves), even smaller and hobby growers can benefit from the explanation of procedures and precautions.

No regrets
Very informative. I've been trying to learn how to grow mushrooms for a few months now. After a few failed attempts I decided to buy this book and I'm glad I did. I now know why I failed and am reinvigorated with excitement to pursue this endeavor. I spent months combing the internet for information about Mushrooms and cultivating them. This book contains everything i found and a whole lot more (I assume most of what I read up to this point actually came from this book). This book is more of a general guide to mushrooms and how they grow and how to grow them. Paul Stamets has another book, mushroom cultivator, is more specifically geared to growing mushrooms for production. It isn't as enjoyable as this one but is a great resource if you want to learn the specifics. Growing gourmet and medicinal mushrooms is very enjoyable and educational. I haven't been able to put it down since i bought it, and just now bought the ebook too to read when I'm on the go.

Anybody that grows mushrooms should have this book nearby
This is Paul Stemets continuation and addition to his original how-to book, "Mushroom Cultivator". I own both of these books and refer back to them often. This one goes into cultivation techniques at a more advanced level. Some of the ideas are more up-to-date as it was written many years later. This book covers a wider range of mushroom species and growth parameters. I would definitely recommend both of his books to anyone interested in growing mushrooms. This book also has a large section of color photographs, which his previous book does not. This book also covers more aspects of commercial cultivation of many species of mushrooms. I've used specific recipes from this book to mix my own agar for petri dishes, make my own mushroom spawn, and growing substrate. I've used the recommended temperature/humidity ranges with great success for growing Oyster, Lion's Mane, and Shiitake mushrooms. While there have been improvements on some of the techniques and ideas outlined by this book, since it's last revision, this book still offers the most complete and decisive understanding of mushroom cultivation as a whole. This is great book for beginners and experienced growers alike.

Excelente

Definitely dense and I probably don't understand half of it
But, it actually has information I can use with very basic equipment. Well defined growing conditions for lots of mushrooms. Numbers! Glorious numbers.

Incredible + comprehensive. Well worth it.
This bible, written by someone who is an authority on mushrooms, is VERY comprehensive. You won't need another guide on how to grow mushrooms. I recommend this book to anyone from 'just curious' through to "I want to be the mushroom Queen"

Alles was man wissen muss
