i had been looking every where to find what i call a gym teachers whistle i never found the correct type of whistle that i was looking for , then i amazon search bar it brought this whistle on screen and its exactly what i want so i bought it and right away is the sound i was looking for like a sports referee or junior high school gym teacher would wear and blow during sports at school whether junior high or high school its effective for marching band leaders too , me i give a short toot on this whistle when not sure where the dog went i give a short blow and hes immediately at my side that totally works but i only for that i bought two because one to keep at home and the other one to take with walking the dog around neighborhood if someone elses dog tries to attack i will blow the whistle it totally backs up other peoples dog if the nieghbors dog comes charging in anger the whistle works great its very helpful sounds great nice shiny nickel color good quality lanyard to hang it around your neck and a very reasonable price ya gotta have it ya just gotta have this its quality sound get it - buy it - ya know ya want it , click add to cart i did.

I got this whistle for my mother who is 84. My Dad (85) is basically deaf and my mother is quite weak now. We were concerned if she needed his help he would not hear. They tested this whistle in all conditions, and he could hear it even in the farthest room with all the doors closed and without his hearing aids. It is doing the job I got it for. I bought this whistle to show my son how to blow (to help his speech along) and this whistle worked great! It's nickel plated, so it's not made of cheap plastic. And it makes a nice loud sound too. I have it hanging on our refrigerator door (love that it comes with a nylon cord) and I let my son blow in it once in a while for fun. I plan on keeping it in my purse in the future (for safety reasons). You never know when you will need to catch someone's attention!

I just wish I did not have to blow the whistle with quite as much force. I would like to be able to blow it when I am in the vicinity of others as well as an attention getter and not ruin their ear drums. Very sturdy metal, nice firm lanyard. Very loud.I keep one in my car for when I walk my dog should another dog get aggressive, and for when I'm out and about to summon help if needed.Then I got an extra one with other supplies in my tornado hidey hole so I don't have to find it before going there. I bought this to use on the really bad telemarketers who call morning, noon and night from God knows where. They are the ones who say they are from a pharmaceutical company. Once they start talking I blow this as loud as possible. Make sure you plug your ears before you blow. They have never called back. Does not work for robocalls, obviously.
