Do you have to put sand or grout in between them when making a path if you butt them up to each other?

No, you just need to lay the mold splicing like a stamp. When you are finished, you can fill in all the gaps with sand.

What kind of quikrete is best for this mold?

Quikkrete high strength concrete mix. 60 lb. Yellow bag. Doesn’t dry to fast and don’t make too wet. After a few minutes you can pull off the mold. After a little time more passes you can smooth out a little more with time pauses again between smoothing.

If i was to do one mold at a time, that way i would decrease the gap between molds, how wide is 2 pads? i guess i'm asking how thick the mold is.
