I've used adapters that work through the FM radio and they do a good job, but they frequently require changing from one unused channel to another--something that's not feasible (or at least not safe) to do while driving. The cassette adapter is a "set it and forget it" solution to listening to music on my iPod. It works well, it's convenient, it's reasonably priced. As long as your car has a cassette player, this is the best solution. And the FORE adapter seems to be well made.

Didn't last an hour
Junk! Made a constant mechanical noise when brand new and after less than an hour of use the sound skips. UPDATE! The manufacturer tried to buy me off. They wanted me to take down this review for a gift card. Is that why this is rated so high even though it's garbage? I should have bought the one from Monster instead.

Still working great after about 9 months!
I ordered this thing in May of 2016 and it is still going strong. I've used these cassette adapters before and they have always worked way better than the ones that tune to an unused FM station. This one has been really nice and lasted way longer than I expected it to.

Very low bass even when my radio's bass slider is all the way up and had to turn both my phone volume and radio volume up high to get a good volume but at the point my radio emits static noises. I did not have this problem with my previous cassette which only got 2 and a half stars and is now unavailable.

Depends on who's listening
This adapter gives the lower to mid-level frequencies quite a boost. Even after tweaking the car radio settings, it doesn't sound as clear as it should. For audiophiles, this isn't worth getting. For the average listener that isn't listening for details and just wants to enjoy their music, this works just fine.

It's very simple to connect to my phone. However, sometimes static does come through. It helps if I turn it off, wait a few minutes and then try it again. This can be annoying but for the most part it's definitely better than nothing.

MWIN Retro Highway Audio Car Cassette Adapter
My very old cassette tape adapter finally stopped working. I purchased the MWIN Retro Highway Audio Car Cassette Tape adapter as a replacement. The tape adapter is quiet when running and the sound quality is an improvement over the old adapter. I use it extensively when driving my 13 year old Murano which has a 6 CD changer and an audio input jack. I use the jack and adapter to listen to my music library stored in my iPhone.

Right Channel Only Equals Broken Product
I spent the extra money (e.g. $13 vs. $5) for this product, because of reliability reasons. On the first try, this product failed by producing signal in the right speaker only. I checked the connection a few times, and verified the headphones jack works on my smartphone. The car radio plays fine, so this is certainly the fault of this cassette device. I'm a very busy man, so I don't have time to deal with this small but annoying problem (e.g. returns and such). These cassette adaptors are simply unreliable way too often, so I'll either try a portable bluetooth speaker option (if available to sit safely on the dashboard of my car), or wait until I can afford a new car.
