Love it, perhaps I got a bad unit? Leaked after 1-2 months + on/off button, charge problems.
UPDATE July 19, 2022: After reading Waterpik's excellent support pages, I'm increasing my rating. I'd never cleaned it. I worked the valve in the tank open/closed (the valve is not one of the removable valves), I ran water + vinegar through the parts, flushed them all out with water, and charged it up fully again. It seems to be running like new; did not leak and gave full pressure. If I have to clean it every six months, that's OK with me. ORIGINAL review: I've been using this product for about 7 months. Functionality: GREAT! After 6 months, my dentist, who always bugs me about not flossing, needing deep cleaning, needing 3 or more visits/year, said my teeth and gums were better than they've ever seen them. They found no problems, and told me to just keep up the great work! I'm over 60 and sleep with my mouth open, so gum "pockets", gum disease, etc. is a real threat for me. It is also easy to use, and the charge usually lasted me at least 2 weeks with 1 use per day on highest setting (I had to get used to that setting, but after a few days, that was the setting I always used). The problem is with reliability. I can't have it leaking a big puddle of water onto my counter almost every time I fill it. I can't have the on/off button get stuck such that it on longer turns of or on, and I have to let it dry out and/or recharge it for hours before the button starts working properly for a few more days. BTW, I did not drop or abuse the unit in any way. I'll probably try a competing product to see if the functionality will be similar, but with more reliability. The one thing I'm sure of is I will continue to use some type of water flosser.

rechargeable Waterpik works great
Love using a Waterpik, this model is rechargeable and since there isn’t a plug by my wife’s sink it is exactly what we needed. Works the same as a plug in model keeping our teeth clean making my dentist happy.

Powerful, easy to use and portable
We don't like to have a lot of wires and things sitting on our bathroom sink area. The ION Professional is great because it's battery-powered. So we charge it, use it a few times, then re-charge it when necessary. It's not real portable, like a hand-held Waterpik, but we just wanted something we could use and then put away in the cabinet. The charger is one of those that is held to the unit by magnets. Within a few weeks, these posts had corroded with something and wouldn't charge the machine. Once I took a small nail file to the ends of the posts, it has been working fine. That shouldn't have happened in the first place, but it happened with a few weeks of getting the unit. I thought it was odd and now I check the plug every time I recharge it. When I first started using it I got a horrible toothache that felt like I needed a root canal procedure. The dentist took several x-rays from different angles but couldn't see anything wrong. I skipped those painful areas, and turned the power down a notch to its lowest setting, and the problem went away within a few days. We like the unit and when we've gone out-of-town, missed how "clean" our teeth felt.

Awesome Product Support! Problem fixed
Update to below reviews on this product! I raised my rating to 5 stars for awesome product support. I thought my WaterPik finally died after two years. I discovered it was under a 3-year warranty so I called product support. After asking me a number of questions, the product support representative walked me through a number of steps to fix it. Voila! My favorite WaterPik was alive again! Thank you!!!! --- Original review in February: I purchased this to replace an aging 4 year old Waterpik. I hesitated because some reviews cited low pressure because it was battery-powered. Nothing could be farther from the truth. Any more powerful and the water jet would probably rip my gums. Yes, I took a gamble and am glad I did. This model is ideal for me because I travel. The rechargeable feature and the small footprint are advantages. I really like the slow pulsing when the unit starts running low on charge. It's simply and it's built so the parts are easy to clean. Glad I tried it! Follow on review in November - 9 months later: It just stopped! Dead! Disappointing. It was nice when it worked... That's it for me! Follow on review on December 4 - Waterpik product support helped me fix this! I was informed that this product was still under warranty, so I called Waterpik. Customer support was helpful and helped me troubleshoot the problem. It is now working again, but am watching carefully. I suspect issue with the weak magnetic connection on the charging cable. But so my Waterpik is back alive! Thank you Waterpik.

Horrible Warranty Customer Service
After only 9 months, this thing will not turn on anymore. It is under warranty from Waterpik, but their customer service is absolutely a nightmare to deal with. Don't waste your time. They are slow to respond and each email just brings up a new line of questioning. Most companies would have sent a shipping label to send the unit in for warranty by now. I have been emailing back and forth for a month now with no resolution. They are doing everything they can to not fix or replace this machine. Some excerpts from those emails are below: 1. "Thank you for reaching out to the Waterpik Product Support Team. Since we know your flosser motor is not turning on, I’d like you to try the following steps listed below. What could be happening here is the Ground Fault Interrupter (GFI) in the bathroom is interfering with the power going to the unit. In order to test this, I would like for you to take the unit into another room, such as a living room or bedroom, where there is no running water. Try plugging the unit into an outlet in one of those rooms and turn on the flosser to see if the motor turns on. If it does, then purchasing a Single Outlet Surge Protector for the bathroom outlet should resolve this issue in the future. Additionally, we also recommend deep cleaning your unit with a 50/50 solution of warm water and distilled white vinegar. Afterwards, we recommend continuing to clean with a 2:1 ratio of warm water and distilled white vinegar every 1-3 months. If the step above is unsuccessful, then please let me know so we can look into additional steps. " 2. "Thank you for reaching out to the Waterpik Product Support Team. I’m sorry your ION isn’t working properly, but I’m happy to help you look into this today. In order to better assist you I’d like to ask a few questions. I look forward to helping you resolve this issue. How often is this machine used? Do the LED lights illuminate? If they do, please plug the unit into the charger and describe the light pattern. Does the machine’s motor turn on? If there is no motor sound, did it stop during use? How often do you charge the machine? How long do you leave it on the charger? Do you see any discoloration on the charging contacts? Has the machine ever been used in a shower? Do you store water in the machine between uses? What is the color of your machine? Once I have the information above I will have a better idea on how to assist you." 3. "Thank you for reaching out to the Waterpik Product Support Team. I’m sorry to hear that your machine isn’t working properly, but I’d be happy to help you look into this issue. Based on your answers, it sounds like the machine may not be making a proper connection to the charger. Sometimes moisture can affect this connection. We recommend ensuring this connection is always kept dry when you are connecting the charger. Ensure your charging cord is connected on a flat surface. Please note a properly charging machine’s LED indicator will glow as it charges. Improper charging may have a rapid, or inconsistent blink. Please use the following steps to try to return function to your machine. Unplug the charging cord from the outlet and remove it from the machine. Dip a cotton swab or clean cloth in white vinegar. Using the above, please gently clean both the connection on the machine itself, and the connection ports on the charger thoroughly. After cleaning these connections, please allow these connections to dry completely and re-connect the charger. The LED light should slowly fade from bright to dim while charging properly. After the charger ports on both components are cleaned and dry, please charge the machine for a full 4-6 hours. If the above steps are unsuccessful, then please let me know. If possible, please attach a short video of the machine’s lights while on the charger and when trying to activate the flosser motor. Once I have a little more information, I’ll have a better idea of where to go from here. I look forward to hearing back from you.

Great Water Flosser for the bathroom
Previously, I had the Waterpik sidekick for travel, and I was very satisfied by the quality and the effect it had on my teeth, so I decided to purchase The Waterpik ION Professional cordless water flosser as a more permanent addition to my bathroom. It has truly impressed me with its exceptional performance and notable benefits for gum health. I used to go get my teeth cleaned every 6 months, and now I can go every year and the dentist compliments me each time. I use it after each meal, 3 times a day when I can, and my teeth and gums feel remarkably clean and refreshed after each use. I use pressure setting 9 out of 10. I have to recharge it every 10 days. Multiple different nozzles are included so you can try them out, but I only use the standard nozzle. The size is just perfect: not too big so it fits into tight bathroom areas, and not too small either: the water container is enough for one person thoroughly using it. The cordless feature adds convenience and saves time each morning. I like the magnetic handle cradle. On the Waterpik Sidekick that didn;t have this feature, I had to store the handle inside the water container, and it was really not as conveniant. I don't live in the USA, so I'm happy you can recharge it on 220 V. You need your own charger though, it is not included in the box. I use a phone charger that I can plug the included USB power cord into. The plug on the unit itself is not standard so you had better not misplace the power cord! I highly recommend the Waterpik ION Professional for anyone looking to enhance their oral hygiene routine.

Teeth Clean, Gums improving, Battery Dead in 30 months or so I thought
The thing works great. Charge about once a week. Had lots of infected areas when I started using this. They are mostly cleared up now. I love this product. Typically use it twice each day. I have reduced to once a day since some sensitive areas get sore from too much use. OK, I gave this a high rating at first but now it is dying and the seller isn't reachable for the 3 years of support they promise. This is too expensive to just die after 2 and a half years. When I thought it was dying I gave this a 1 rating, but now after finally reaching Waterpik customer service, I got a fix that seems to be working. BTW Waterpik's customer service number is prominent in the user manual. There is a link to it from the Amazon listing under support. When I called I reached support quickly and the helpful tech I reached walked me through the two easy things I needed to do. 1) Clean the charger contacts with vinegar using a qtip. They were shiny and looked new but he assured me there might be a thin film on them. 2) when charging do not let the wire droop. The contact magnets are not strong so the wire needs to be at the same level as the unit or else it disrupts the contacts. I did both these things and got a full charge in a few hours. I have raised my rating to 4. It is still a great product but it doesn't need to be this sensitive on the plug in side. My other beef with it is that the flashing lights when it is low on power are just like the flashing lights when it is fully charged only faster. I think it should go solid on when fully charged for clarity. A few months later it would not hold a charge at all. This is too expensive to replace every 3 years. I just got one that plugs in.

Lo he tenido durante meses y usándolo una vez al día, no lo he tenido que cargar de vuelta, entonces la batería me parece excelente. Leí comentarios de que se le fuga el agua, bueno, no fue mi caso en ningún momento. Algo ruidoso en comparación con el waterpik de viaje pero vale la pena porque mi problema con ese otro era la batería y lo poco que duraba, por lo que estoy encantada con este producto. Tiene varias intensidades para aventar el agua y viene con diferentes accesorios para personas con brackets, lavado de lengua, lavado de prótesis, etcétera.

Good pressure. Good battery holding charge
Nice water pick. Adjustable pressure. The pick itself is magnetised so easy to place back on the stand after use without any trailing wires. Charged up from usb and retains its power a long time so you don’t have to charge it very often. It’s a little more expensive than some others. But looks neat on top of my mirrored cabinet as it is fairly compact.

Best on the market! Love this waterpik. Ease of use, and all aspects work as advertised. Rechargeable with a large water reservoir, excellent pressure adjustable. Would definitely recommend.
