I want a meter to measure usage in my greenhouse.  No remote or anything fancy.   what meter should I buy to just measure gallons usage.

For irrigation system, the engineer tends to use smaller piping to create powerful flow for the sprinkler. Therefore, you have to choose the water meter based on normal flow rate or Maximum Continuous Flow Rate, not the piping size. As a rule of thumb, if having a ¾” or ½” piping with the irrigation system, you should choose 1” water meter. It will be DAE AS250U-100, measured in US Gallons. Both AS-100m and AS-75m are measured in cubic meter.

You can operate DAE AS-100m bi-directional. AS-100m has a strainer at the inlet only. We suggest that you add one more strainer or filter at outlet of the meter.

Why do your meters reduce down in size internally? I ordered 3/4 but it reduces down to almost half inch inside, do they all do this?

Please refer to 20th line of DAE AS200U-75 listing in Amazon. “DAE AS series is single jet water meter with bore dimension: 0.57 inch.” Single jet water meter make use of only one port to create a jet of water, making the turbine rotate. The size is smaller. Whereas DAE MJ series (like MJ-75 for 3/4” meter) is Multi-jet meter which use multiple ports surrounding an internal chamber to create jets of water against the turbine. The size is bigger. The pressure drop is 0.64 psi at 5 GPM for AS200U-75 and 0.58 psi at 5 GPM for MJ-75.
