KINDLE VERSION - awful
KINDLE VERSION Please avoid the Kindle version until they fix the font. Somehow they released this with a faded blue font for >50% of the text which is difficult to read on most devices/screens (PC, macbook, ipad, iphone). It blows my mind that we live in a day and age where you can release a book for nearly $100 without actually having people try it or use it. There is no way that they had even 30 people who actually use Kindle books try this out. It appears this can be fixed relatively easy with a new download / version if someone took a few hours to revise it, but currently it's not usable and I will probably return the kindle book. If you don't believe me, feel free to buy the book - Kindle has a pretty good return policy in the first day or two, which I imagine I'll take advantage of. The color of the font for the text in HTML code is: #E0FDFF You can google that code and see the font color. Imagine studying with a book with that font color for hours (it's on a white background, lol!) Imagine PRINTING a book with this color font. It's jaw dropping stupidity this is product made it to sale. I'm baffled at the level of "I don't give a .... " this product displays. It seems like people aren't trying anymore. Or maybe electronics and gadgets are too newfangled to acutally test drive before release? Who knows. But pathetic display of competence here.

Probably not worth your money
It's just OK. I was familiar with the format of First Aid since using it first for my Step 1, but the style just wasn't as helpful at this stage for the EM boards. It's colorful, has a lot of graphics and bubbles and such, but these feel just distracting. For the EM boards, you're reviewing things you've (hopefully) learned over several years of residency, and if you're like me, are looking for a no-frills, high-yield only book. There was a lot of space wasted on explaining very basic concepts, and I felt a lot of information was left out in the process. I instead went with the AAEM book and never looked back. If you're just starting residency, I can see where this book would come in helpful as it does a decent job of laying the foundation for what you'll learn in greater depth. That being said, I didn't use this at the beginning and did just fine, especially with the prevalence of online resources such as with FOAM or Hippo

Highly recommended...
Nicely laid out. Well highlighted details. Good mnemonics when necessary. Easy to read. Closely aligned with , and more or less, a compressed version of Tintinalli and Rosen.

Digital Edition is Formatted Differently
The paper-back version is a great resource, and I think the reviews above speak to that. This is a review about the .azw version of the book. It's bad. I bought and immediately asked for a refund. For one thing, the software renders text so it looks different from the paperback, and one of the nice things about the paper back is that each page is divided into core content (closer to the spine of the book), and "key pearls" or "review questions" that intermittently are on the lateral margins of the book. The .azw does away with this organization, so there is a just a solid wall of text. For the vast majority of textbooks I have bought to read digitally, formatting is preserved (so page numbers are the same when people refer to things) - not here. This makes the digital edition essentially unusable in a group setting (turn to page so-and-so means nothing to you)
