Stay This Way Forever

I’m a mother of 6 children plus one Five adopted four of them are Inter Racial two are white our plus one is also inter racial All different shades of skin color . I’m a white mother skin color in our family has never been seen as anything more then hair color or eye color in the books we read . But it should have been we should all see ourselves. This book is a beautiful parent to child story the illustrations are amazing and seeing a book of children of color in all the shades has made me realize what our family was missing . I have bought four of copies of this book and this will be that book that you give to others as gifts. But it. No matter what skin color you or the person you are buying it for is . All children need to know that the color of our skin does not make us different any more the hair color . We are all the same inside and out ❤️

A beautifully written and heartfelt story.

I bought this for my youngest because her fifth birthday is next week. I cried my eyes out reading it. The author so beautifully illustrates the love a mother has for their child and just makes me want to hold my sweet little girl. Heart warming and a feel good read with lovely illustrations. Would absolutely recommend!

After watching a tv interview of Author Linsey Davis, I ordered a copy of this precious book. I am a new mom and reading this to my 2.5 year old was tough, because I had to fight back tears several times. The way this was written definitely captures how a parent feels for their little one(s). We wish they could stay the way that they are forever in their innocence and every cute and funny thing they do, but we also want them to grow up to be amazing. I love this book and the illustrations were a perfect pair!

This is easy to read, Birthday for child.

This colorful, affectionate board book is all about a mother's love for her son. "Stay This Way Forever for Little Ones" is a board book adaptation of Linsey Davis's original picture book, which she wrote based on her relationship with her own son. The book emphasizes the little boy's positive characteristics, and the mother's hope that he will "stay this way forever" in terms of who he is. If someone is concerned by the title, they should know that this isn't a sentimental book about wanting your child to never grow up. The mother talks about how her child will change and grow over time, but expresses the hope that he will always remain "wild and free," filled with wonder. The illustrations from Lucy Fleming are charming and convey emotions well, and will appeal to people looking for diverse books about parental love. This is a great choice for parents who want to affirm their child's best qualities and their love for their child. In many ways, this book struck me as a non-creepy alternative to I'll Love You Forever. That one is a classic for a reason, but it's also very weird. This book avoids the strange vibes, and just celebrates how a mother's love will remain steadfast over the years. My only critique is that it is odd for the illustrations to show two children when the mother is only talking to her son, not her daughter. This can seem like exclusiveness and favoritism, when the pictures could have only shown the child the mother is talking to. Although this book is from a Christian publisher, it does not mention God or include any Bible verses. Since I haven't read the original version of "Stay This Way Forever," I do not know if this is a departure from the original or not, but the board book does not have any spiritual content. Christian parents who are specifically looking to affirm God's design in their child's life and His love for their child may want to pursue a different book, but parents who are looking for something secular that is just about a parent-child bond won't be caught off guard by unexpected religious content.

I heard a review of this book watching one of the news shows. When I heard the title it tugged at my heart. I am a grandmother who loves being a grandma and I love being a Mom as well. This book is beautifully written and a loving mother’s heartbeat. It is a reminder to seize each day with your child.
