Monoprice 3.5mm TS Mono Plug to 3.5mm TRS Stereo Jack Adapter - Gold Plated, Black

I did buy one in the past that didn't work so well. It did the job (two mono sounds in each ear or stereo...not sure but I hear from both ears) but I often had to twitch it to make it work, as the contact between the two (earphone cord and TV) was constantly breaking. I had to adjust it in the middle of the plug. However this one I bought works amazingly well. I plug it in my earphones and the other end in my TV (I also use a ten-foot extension cord) and the sound doesn't break. Perfect!

Works great for my application I needed to plug into a mono port on my radio and plug my stereo computer speakers into the female end.

***** NOT FOR A STEREO SOURCE Some reviewers complained about bad results when plunging this adapter into a stereo source. By design this adapter is intended to be plugged into a MONO source ONLY. I needed this adapter for a “special” configuration. Read on. ***** NOTE ON QUALITY AND RESULTS I can't say if this adapter will work with any mono device, but it works for me as described below. The connections are secure with no issues. This is day one using this adapter so I don't know about longevity at this point. ***** GET BOTH CHANNELS IN MONO I needed my stereo headphones to be in mono mode. This will work great for a person with hearing loss in one ear. This is my solution using a Dell Inspiron laptop and Sony MDR-ZX110 headphones. It ain't pretty, but it works See attached photos: 1. Plug a STEREO TO MONO adapter into your source (computer or whatever). 2. Next plug this MONO TO STEREO adapter into a STEREO TO MONO adapter. 3. Next plug your headphones into the mono to stereo adapter. Now mono sound will be routed to the left and right headphone channels. ***** NOTE ON SIZE Some reviewers were concerned about the adapter being too bulky for their use. The adapter is a a six sided hexagon shape about 7/16 inch wide. See photo.
