How do you get the rest of your kit? It only came with the board, roller stand and bead container

A diamond painting kit is not included. You have to purchase that separately.

Does the light pad light up on it's own? Or does it need to be connected?

The light pad needs to be connected to a USB cord either to your computer or laptop or to your phone charger plug. The light pad has three levels of light that you can choose to use with a button that you touch which is on the same side of the plug.

i can not get light pad to turn on. Is there a trick to it.

There is an off/on button on the lower right side of the pad, close to the edge and close to the part that you plug in the USB cord. It has three light settings. If the light does not turn on, first make sure the cord is flush against the pad after you plug it in and the other end of the cord either plugged into your computer/laptop or in a phone charger adapter. If your light pad still does not turn on, you could have a faulty light pad an you would need to contact Amazon if that is where you ordered it from.

I do like this board. I use it for my diamond paintings. When I have a canvas that the symbols on it are hard to identify this really comes in handy to see them better.
