Douglas Pancake Bengal Tiger Cub Plush Stuffed Animal

I recently lost my boy cat. I adopted him many years ago from a no-kill shelter. I was told he had been there for almost a year. They estimated him as being between three or four years old, and said he had been there for so long because most people don’t want “older cats”- they want kittens. Regardless of age, as soon as I saw this particular cat, I knew he was for me. There was just something about him. He was a large, long furred tuxedo cat with the palest green eyes. He had been born feral, and was a bit beat up from his time living outdoors. He had also lost an ear to frostbite. Though he had never had a home, he was always a gentleman, and had impeccable manners. I think he knew he had hit the jackpot when I adopted him. His fighting for existence outside, then languishing in a cage, days were over, and his life now consisted of being spoiled rotten. With every new soft cushion, with being allowed to hang out on the comfy bed at will, with every toy and each fresh bowl of wet food of his very own, he always looked like he couldn’t believe his luck. He had such a personality. When he experienced what must have been his first extended brushing session, the look of incredulous joy that soon settled into zen-like bliss on his face was so funny. Cats do not like to be laughed at, and it was difficult smothering my giggles, watching his face changing expressions. He was a character. I miss him. I love my other cats dearly of course, but they are not cuddly in the way he was, and I wanted something I could remember him by until the memory of his loss is no longer so painful. I decided to order a stuffed tiger toy. And gosh- there are a LOT of stuffed tigers to choose from out there! I finally narrowed it down to four different tigers. I liked the look of this one the best, but it was the most expensive, and it seemed on the small size for the cost. There were not a large quantity of photos to judge this tiger’s appearance by, though I am thankful for the photos that were posted. And the not-great ones I am posting absolutely do not do this enchanting little creature justice. It is SO much more adorable than it appears in the pictures! The first thing I was worried about was what the face would look like. The example photo of any stuffed animal shown in its ad is always the most symmetrical and cute representative model that the company can find. Then, as often happens, you open the box, and a monstrosity with lopsided eyes, prickly whiskers, and a sideways nose greets you. Totally not the case with this Tiger Cub Plush. It does have oversized ears and eyes, but they are totally appropriate for a tiger cub, and contribute to the cuteness. It is DARLING! And it is not too small. Without extending the tail, it is 13” from the tip of its cute pink plastic nose to its upturned curled tail tip. The body itself is 8” long. That sounds small, but really, it is not. It is plenty of tiger to hug. Inadequate huggability would have been the first thing I would have mentioned after a not cute face, as that was one of the factors I was looking for. (The little tiger also fits nicely under your chin in bed at night.) There are no external whiskers whatsoever. There are six black dots on either side of the nose marking where the whiskers would be. The (glass) eyes are blue, and the pupils are widely dilated, giving this beguiling little beast a look of a kind of innocent surprise that immediately calls forth an “awwww” response. It has the white tufted “sideburns” and a tuft of chin “fur” that tigers are known for, adding to its “authentic" look. You just want to hug the little tiger, and its structure is perfect for this. As another reviewer rightly noted, the head is more packed with filling than the rest of the body, but in no way does it make the head feel hard, or lumpy. The extra filling is there to ensure the head stands up correctly, and keeps its shape. The body is adequately stuffed, but is soft and very comforting to hug. The fake fur is nice and soft, and sometimes at night when I am petting the little tiger and falling asleep, I almost forget I am not petting my departed cat buddy. Instead of making me sad, this makes me remember him in a nice way, and for that I am grateful. The tiger, when at rest, assumes a classic Sphinx position, with back legs underneath folded forward, and front legs folded forward as well, with head facing forward at you. I realize that I am a grown adult woman talking about buying a stuffed animal to help cope with the pain of the loss of a beloved cat I owned for many years, but I think a lot of people reading this will understand what I am talking about. Losing a pet hurts. A lot. And I can attest that a little artificial furry companion can, and will, make you feel a lot better. So while this stuffed tiger toy is a bit more expensive, it is worth every penny, both in construction, the use of superior materials, and in its esthetics. As soon as I pulled it out of the box and saw its sweet face and felt its soft fur, I knew I had made the right choice. I hope this helps. Thank you.

best thing ever it was so soft great quality my kid loved it she sleeps with it every night and said she would never get rid of it is so fun for kids the size is perfect it would be perfect for a gift and it is so cute it came with no holes and is so fun for kids it has gift value it also has great durability

It was hard to find a sweet, fluffy, soft tire toy, but I was happy. I found this one. My grandson loves it. He is very fond of tigers. I highly recommend it.

It’s so cutee! Things that are important to know is that it’s very soft and the perfect cuddle size. Personally I use mine as an essa and lots of regular essa gear fit it.
