How do you wring out the mop?

You don't. Put on pad on, spray the surface with your favorite cleaner After you that you take that pad off and put the second pad on and go over surface one more time. Put the two pads, put the pads in the laundry and put them in with your next wash. That's how I do it This is how our hospital does it. You can use the mop to shine up surfaces in between mopping. I love this product. Hope that helps.

How is this on heavy duty dog hair, and how hard is it washing the dog hair out of the head?

I got this for damp mopping. I pick up the dog hair with my vacuum first then damp mop with the microfiber mop. Of course there is still a little dog hair on my hardwood floors and it does a good job catching that in the microfiber. Cleaning the mop head is easy...just peel it off the Velcro head and drop into washing machine. Mine always comes out clean and dog hair free.

What surfaces can u use the scouring pads on? we have laminate flooring and i wasn't sure if those would ruin it.

I wouldn't use the scouring pads on laminate flooring, would use the microfiber pads. Scourings pads are more for tile/ceramic flooring if they need a real deep clean. My original order unfortunately never came with the scouring pads. Beware the handle is aluminum and at time flips and can scratch laminate flooring. I ended up buying a Rubbermaid hard plastic handle with thicker microfiber pads and find it more user friendly,
