I got almost 3 years out of my last stand, a more 'normal' style than this one with screw in knobs. I had to replace all the knobs on that one at least once after they stripped out but in the end it was just beginning to lean and seemed to come loose at every joint. So when I went looking for a replacement I came upon this one. Two things that drew me to it were the height clamps style (vs screw knobs) and also the 'head' at the top that holds the tablet clamp looks a lot more sturdy. Last, the tablet clamp style was different as well and holds the tablet on the sides (or top and bottom) vs the corner clamping that the last one had. Right out of the box the build quality seemed really good especially for something that is SO lightweight and folds up very small. I love the clamps for height adjustment as they are much faster and easier to operate than the screw in type. I also much prefer the side/top-bottom tablet holder and the beefier tablet clamp post. The one thing I don't know about is how long it will stand up to the rigors of performance. We play about 150 shows a year so we'll see. I'll report back if I have any issues but for now right out of the box (and used at one show already) it works well and is a definite improvement over the last stand I bought. I did not try the little phone/camera shutter remote that came with it as I'll almost surely never need/use that. If there is one possible downside to the lightweight is that with the tablet attached the stand is not rock-solid. It holds my mid-size Samsung Galaxy tablet fairly well but a full size tablet might be a bit much for it. It probably wouldn't take a lot of contact to knock it over but that's a tradeoff with the extreme lightweight build. Since we are just an acoustic duo with one guitar and two vocalist that plays in assisted living type places almost exclusively with little traffic around us, stability is less of an issue than lightweight and portability.

This is a great stand. I bought it and another similar stand and this one is far superior. Easy to set up, it holds my large ipad firmly in place. No tipping, falling, or changing of angles from what I set for reading. The cords used to adjust for the device width are superior to the usual hard plastic grab bars that pinch fingers. Easy to change heights and move around. Just bought a second one to use outside.

Exactly what I was looking for! I use it to take product photos and videos. Easy to assemble and works great with my 13 inch Ipad and cellphone. Adjustable height, tilts and turns. Lightweight but sturdy. I love the bluetooth remote which works for both IOS and Android products. Good product, good value for the price. Highly recommend.

So I really like this tripod, I simply think there is room for improvement in design. I use this tripod to film speeches for school, and I can have notes on the screen like a teleprompter to keep me on track. Overall, this works well, and the tripod is sturdy enough that I can hit pause/record without it falling over. So it does what I need it to easily. That said, my small recommendation is to design the side clamps in a way that does not obstruct the camera in the center. In order to use the tripod I must have the tablet clamped off center which can cause the stand to wobble slightly more. Is it still compatible? Yes, and overall it does a good job without much hassle.

I love this stand. Very light weight (I need it for portable use) and comes with a great case. Easy to get the iPad into as expandable gripper has just the right level of resistance to keep your tablet secure, but not hard to get it in. It collapses to a very tight size, but also gives plenty of height when fully extended. The best part in the clips to expand and retract the extensions. I had another that required you to turns screws to open and close, which takes time. This model has an easy clip that couldn’t be easier or quicker. The head swivel works well and you get a wide range of angles to view. The light weight is a huge plus, but I suppose you might choose a heavier option if you were outside in a heavy wind. The bases’s legs can go quite wide for stability, or stand up straighter if you don’t want it in the way when walking past it.

The elastic bands on the back of this stand make ALL the difference! Being able to grab the bands ensures that the clip doesn't snap and pinch your fingers. I HIGHLY recommend this stand. It's the only one I use, and I've tried many. I have several of these to keep handy in the studio, the TV room (where the guitars are), and for the car for gigs and jams. Easy to pop open and set up. Lightweight. LOVE IT!

I used this stand in an outdoor setting and it worked great. It was quite windy, but the stand did not blow over or even wobble. The stand is easy to set up and the ipad holder has pulls so there's no problem in putting the ipad in. It folds up and fits it my backpack.

Easy to use, great value, convenient to carry.

I'm pleasantly surprised with this easy to use and sturdy stand. My big ipad feels pretty secure, even with it's case left on. I can't think of anything negative. I got a sale on it, and the value is terrific.
