Old India Beetroot Powder 1kg

I have purchased this product 3 times previously. Quality was excellent and always mixed easily into drinks etc. The latest delivery is very pale in colour. The powder will only stay in suspension in any liquid for a very short time. When used in a drink as i do you need to constantly stir it. Not happy

I bought this horrible product as it came up when I was looking for beetroot powder as I have been using that for years and or eating fresh beetroot. I put it on my porridge and yogurt on top, and it has NEVER EVER melted like this or turned into caramel. There is Absolutely NO taste of beetroot what so ever, so what is it made off beggars believe. Yes, beetroot powder has a slight sweetness to it, this has literally NO taste whatsoever, I did wonder about the very dark red colour when I decided to buy it, but thought there different beetroots. This is not worth the money, have never seen a beetroot, as again there is no taste of beetroot whatsoever. You might be better off with some sugar and colouring. Keep far away from this.

Doesn't taste like beetroot with a very strong smell and taste of peppery spice. I have bought powered beetroot before that does taste of beetroot but the only thing this has in common with beetroot is the colour. Can't recommend. Strange spicey taste and smell really offputting.

Another reviewer said " seems too red, too sweet and too fine to be powdered beetroot". I agree fully. I was surprised by the colour; raspberry. The taste, dissolved in water (with difficulty, it goes sticky), was like raspberry jam. If you like that, OK, but it is nothing at all like any other beetroot powder I have had before (others taste like slightly sweet beetroot...). I bought it for its nutritional value. I just have to hope it works as "normal" beetroot powder does.

Constantly goes rock hard and wet. I keep other sources in my Thali and they are dry and powdery whilst this goes rock hard and unusable. I have bought and stored large volumes of spices for years and never had a problem this product is either cut with something or is faulty. Do not recommend buying.

Plenty of sugar in this product, as I'm diabetic I launched it in the bin.

I use this in my vegetarian kitchen, it's great for adding flavour and colour to vegetarian dishes, also contains valuable nutrition. I like to add it to veggie burgers for flavour and colour, it's a game changer.

This is exceptional value for money, but it is quite weak in beetroot flavour, is low in nitrates (reason for purchasing beetroot) and has been processed through a machine that processes curry powder. The curry flavour is off-putting.
