This is Why We Pray: A Story About Islam, Salah, and Dua Review: Great book for kids! - Such a good book for kids . My kids and I love reading it together . Highly recommend Review: Great Representation and Informative - This Is Why We Pray is a book about the customs of Islam, specifically the five pillars, Salah, and Dua. This book is written for children in a story form and is very informative. The book has great representation which is important for not only children of color but Muslim children. Not only is the book informative but it's interactive. It gives the young reader activities to share with their family and engages the reader in critical thinking. I especially love the glossary at the end along with a list of additional resources to learn more. It may be helpful, particularly to the non-Muslim reader, to break the glossary up after each chapter with the terms used in the proceeding chapter. If you are looking to learn more or engage your children in the Muslim faith this is a great book.

Perfect for kids
This book is amazing, well written and nice illustration. Perfect for children and anyone, for that matter, for a straightforward explanation of why and how we pray.

Great resource
While I am not religious, I bought this book for someone else. So I cannot speak to the details of the topic. The pictures are bright and relevant to the story. While I won't take points off, I wish this would not have the faux sticker saying "ages 5-7" because I think it would be a great resource for children with disabilities who are older or even just older people looking to have a very brief look into the religion.

Engaging, well written, with colorful illustrations.
This book is a blessing to any revert to Islam and anyone who is interested in Muslim customs and way of life. Prayers are one of the most beautiful important parts of a Muslim life. I don’t think it should have a age limit, I’m a grandmother and I was just as excited for it to arrive and give to my grandchildren as gifts. Being a former teacher this would be a great addition to elementary schools and libraries. The story is true to life and the illustration helps to keep young and old readers engaged. The colors are very vivid. The glossary is a great addition to the steps in prayer and is easily explained by the author. I will be purchasing more copies. This book is for young and old alike.

I loved this introductory yet comprehensive book that teaches kids about the five pillars of Islam, how and why we pray, gratitude, and dua. Hadith and Quran are included, which encourages children to learn a bit more. And the fun activities that kids can do with their families is the icing on the cake. Loved it!

The book is written nicely and the quality of the pages and overall book is great. It is word-heavy so children aged 5-7 will likely need someone to read it for them.
