I want to buy a step-down transformer to use this in the UK, but I need to know the wattage of this sharpener to get the right transformer.

Not sure of the wattage of the sharpener, but I found a 500w step down transformer works fine. PS: it is a fantastic sharpener!

Can you use it with a standard uk to us travel plug ir do you need something else?

America use 120v and the uk use 240v if you use a travel plug it will just pop when you turn it on . If you are in the uk the LIHUACHEN electric knife and tool sharpener is the one to get comes with a uk plug and works great

How long do the belts last with fairly regular use?

I couldn’t put a time line on how long they last, but you can tell when they are not sharping your knifes properly, because you try to put too much pressure on the belt. New one’s are not that expensive, so i just change mine. Hope that helps.
