High quality, excellent value
Im new to beard products. Although I have had a beard for several years, I just starting trying to take care of it. Ive tried several different brands and products, and I keep coming back to honest amish. This oil seems good quality. It has helped my beard flakes tremendously. Its not extremely greasy. Helps my beard be softer and more manageable. Its not for styling, doest hold anything in place. The scent is good. Its not strong or overwhelming. It smells kinda like fresh cut lumber. Its pleasant for me. I think its a great product and will continue to purchase this oil in the future.

Excellent all-around beard oil
I have tried a variety of different beard oils, but I always come back to Honest Amish premium as my "go-to". I've used it on my beard at various lengths and have always had a good experience. This oil does a great job of taming my thick beard, and also provides excellent moisture to both the hair and skin. This oil is the only one I'v tried that is able to consistently eliminate my beard flakes. The oil leaves my beard soft and supple with a nice sheen. It provides just enough hold to keep my beard from being a bushy mess, while also leaving it soft and flexible; if you are looking for a strong hold, or to sculpt the shape of your beard with a product, you will probably need to use an additional balm or butter for this purpose. The scent is mild and reminiscent of a woodshop, and I can also detect a warm nutty scent that kind of reminds me of a warm rice pilaf (in a good way). You'll enjoy the nice smell when you apply the oil, but it will not over power you, or others, as the day goes on. There is not the strong cologne type of scent that many other oils have. In my personal taste, i would prefer the smell to be a just a bit stronger, but to each their own. The bottle has an old-timey apothecary look to it, and is made of frosted glass which allows you easily see the vibrant color of the oil, and how much you have left. The bottle is topped with a glass dropper that allows you to easily control the amount of oil you use. I will say that if you take the bottle travelling, the bottle will leak slightly even with a hard twist; this is typical of every dropper-style bottle I've had, and I would recommend using a small zip-loc bag when you travel. I've had great success with this oil by putting it into my damp (not wet), warm beard as soon as I get out of the shower. I use about 10 small drops on my fingers and work it into my beard and skin, then use a boar brush and horn comb to spread the oil and style my beard; this has given me great results. I also rub my fingers through my hair and scalp, which gives my head-hair an extra bit of sheen, hold, and healthy look. I use this oil every day as described above, and the bottle usually lasts me 3-4 months, which is a great value. Overall, this is an excellent all-around beard oil for daily use.

Absolutely works and highly recommend....but....
Man do I have mixed feelings on this product. I love aspects of it, but there's a few negatives for me. YMMV. Have had a beard for years and just suffered the dreaded beard itch and occasional beardruff, finally decided to try something to address it. Regular moisturizer doesn't really get down to the root and will leave your beard greasy, so after some research decided oil was the solution. First off, this absolutely works. It gets deep into the skin and nearly overnight cleared up the rough patchy skin. Within a few days no more itchty, red, or flaky spots. The oil absorbs quickly, and while there is a slight oily feeling (and will transfer to your fingers if you rub your beard) there is no greasy or "wet" feeling. Having used other products that leaves a greasy layer, this is much appreciated. It also definitely helps soften beard hair and make it more manageable, so thumbs up for that. So functionally, this product is awesome and amazing. Let's talk cost. First off, even the cheapest beard oils are expensive. The base carrier oils are extremely cheap, and you can mix your own very easily. That being said, Honest Amish is one of the best values for the money, especially in comparison to products which can run 5x or more per ounce. If your looking for a reasonably priced product with great results, this is a clear winner. Now lets get into the negatives. There's really one clear negative for me and that's the color. Honest Amish Premium Beard Oil is a yellowish-brown color, and will absolutely stain. I've never seen stains from normal use (oil transferring from the beard to the collar of a shirt for example) but it is a longterm concern of mine. After applying, I've started wiping down the outside of my beard to minimize this, but if I were to remove a star this would be the cause. I'm not sure that there is a way around this without drastically changing the product (and perhaps its effectiveness). There's one other personal downside for me, and that's the smell. Many beard oils use essential oils for scent, and those fade pretty quickly. The smell in this product comes primarily from the carrier oils (black cumin oil being one of the primary sources of the smell), so the smell doesn't really fade. This is a good thing if you like the smell, personally for me it's a bit too much of a "tobacco" type of smell and it's just not something that I want to smell all day long. Both the Mrs and I agree that they absolutely nailed the stereotypical smell of an Amish man, so I can't fault them in any way for that. Additionally while the smell is very strong when first applied, it does fade to a fairly subtle amount within an hour or so. No one will smell you from across the room ir even from 5 feet away, but ut will absolutely be noticeable for anyone who leans in for a hug. All in all I overall love the product, but the staining potential and scent are just a bit too much for me. I would highly recommend anyone to try this for themselves, and see how it works out.

this one smells literally like wet lumber or fresh cut 2x4s
This is probably my 3rd or 4th brand of beard oil to try. A lot of other oils have a "woodsy" scent to them, this one smells literally like wet lumber or fresh cut 2x4s. I don't mean that in a bad way, its just different. My beard feels as soft or probably a little softer than when I use other brands. The oil feels different in my hands, too. Its hard to describe, but it just seems like a more natural, less processed oil than the others I have tried. Another thing that is different from other brands I have tried is that no matter how much I use, it all seems to absorb into my beard, whereas with other brands, even a drop too much and it would just coat my hands. I never seem to have oily hands after applying this. I like the dropper, that's a feature I haven't had with the other brands I have tried. PROS- packaging, quality of the oil, natural, seems to make my beard soft CONS- the smell is pretty good, but I've smelled other brands I liked better, if that's important to you; I ordered this with the heavy duty balm, and one of them seems to make my face itch instead of relieving the itch, at least for the first 30 minutes or so after I apply it

A strong BUY recommendation
A sweet smell of fresh cut wood in a woodshop, maybe what an Amish shop might smell like! That was my first impression, and each day thereafter when I bring my oiled hands to my face. Absolutely love it. Have used several high end high quality beard oils over the years and all have been wonderful but I'm thinking this one tops the list. The silkyness of the oil on my face and beard is the real feather in the cap, or fresh wood shavings on the floor if you'd prefer. I could go on and on .... this oil is a strong BUY and try for yourself. (No payment was received for this review haha)

Great Beard Oil That Actually Works!
I've tried multiple beard oil products, and this is the only one that truly reduces itching—and on some days, it even eliminates it completely. It also noticeably reduces skin flakiness, which is a huge plus. While it’s not completely odorless, it definitely isn't stinky either. The scent is subtle and pleasant enough not to be overwhelming. One thing to note is that it goes fast, so you’ll find yourself needing to buy more fairly often—but honestly, it’s worth it for how well it works. Pro tip: Use less than you think you need and rub your hands together for a bit to warm up the oil and "activate" it before applying. This makes a big difference in how evenly it spreads and absorbs. Overall, I highly recommend this product—it does the job better than anything else I've tried!

Good product, but I think I like the Classic better
I have a full on mountain man beard that has it's own personality and must be tamed with a beard oil or I look like I've been living in the forest. I've been an Honest Amish customer for quite a long time, using their Classic beard oil. Big fan of these products they work great. I decided to try the premium and it's a fine product. It costs a bit more, but it seems like I get a little more coverage out of it and only have to use about half as much oil, so I suspect that it probably works out about the same on cost in the long run. The scent is fine, it only lasts a few seconds anyway, but I'll admit the sawmill scent is a strange choice and I prefer the anise scent of the classic (even though I thought that was a weird scent choice too, but it grew on me...). Overall both products work great for softening the beard, making it manageable, and moisturizing the skin underneath. My liking the Classic better is purely a personal preference, both products are fantastic.

Good oil, but lacking fragrance
The quality of the beard oil is quite nice. The ingredients are superb as well, but because this oil does not have any fragrance added to it, all you can smell are the oils which give it an olive oil/soggy wood type of smell.

Canadian here. My favorite since 2020 have a growing beard since 2017 i try different beard oils from amazon and i alternate everyday with 4 to 5 different beard oil and honest amish have always been on my shelf. I use it when my beard gets itchy for different reasons and it realy heal my skin faster than any other beard oil. Its Organic and the price for 2 ounce is perfect in my opinion. Quality is there
