Likes- - precision, high polish stainless and a long dipping handle - dipping handle with a keyring to ensure it is plumb when paint is measured -easy to clean, will not distort with scrubbing or with solvents - smaller & not as tall as a Ford #4 so can be used to measure smaller volumes of finish Dislike- - the smaller volume means less time to drain the cup, but it is not as accurate (time wise) as the Ford #4 Conclusion - I like the size, ease in cleaning and the ability to dip a shallower paint container than the #4 Ford, but a #3 Zahn would have covered more of my range of finishes and paints. Most of my products list the time in seconds for a Ford #4, now I'm using a conversion chart to centipoises with the Zahn. I've gained over a plastic #4 Ford in some ways, and lost in some others. Overall, a much better quality cup than the Ford and a good move on my part.

Not much to say, it is a Zahn cup and does what it is supposed to do. I did get a #5 as well, and it turned out to be a better fit for my application (house paint).

This is a precise and solid piece of laboratory equipment. It's well-made, doesn't flex, and is easy to clean. I compared it to the cheap plastic cup that came with my paint sprayer, which I normally test my thinned paint down to a 30-second consistency. This cup's volume and hole are both different size, so I ran a few tests, and this one is exactly half, however, with a bit more consistency between tests. It's also so much easier to use with the long handle. So if you do a lot of painting, I recommend a 15-second viscosity with this particular cup. I got perfect results spraying a waterborne alkyd paint onto cabinets, and I've found that this viscosity also works best in both my HVLP and HPLV guns with latex and lacquer paints as well. I cannot get consistent results without a viscosity cup and this is the nicest one I've used. Automotive finishes may be different but I have no experience with them.
