Using this in our small RV
This is a review on two parts. The first part concerns why I bought this item. This product had lots of reviews. That means to me that you get a good sampling and paid reviewer's comments are diluted. I liked that the description explained what to expect from this device in performance. The wattage was 20 Watts, important in an RV. I would like to have seen a noise level listed. I was unsure of the physical unit's size. I see one set of measurements but I think that's of the box and not the unit. Clear that up and this review has all the information you need. Coming up, review of the unit. My RV is 76F and 50-70% humidity without the unit. The 70% humidity came when I was steaming veggies on the stove. Here's the second part of the review. I've had the unit for a week. The unit is very quiet. In a quiet room I can't hear it 2 feet away. Up closer you can hear air rushing through the vents. The dimensions of the unit are 4 3/8 inches at it's deepest point, 8 1/2 inches tall, and 5 1/2 inches at it's widest point. The unit is curved and not rectangular. The intake is in the front, the exhaust on top. Does it work? Yes, it does but maybe not as you might expect. This unit can only extract water from the air if the temperature of the internal cooling plate is lower than the dew point. The bigger the difference the more water collected. If your room is cold, you'll collect less water. There's also less water in colder air. One thing to be aware of is air leaks in your room. If fresh water laden air is continually introduced, you won't notice a difference. In our RV, I ran a vent fan that sucked fresh humid air from the outside. This machine could not keep up because we weren't recirculating the drier air, it went outside. For best results, keep your room sealed from outside air. I'm satisfied, the unit collects water and that's water not in my air. My unscientific experiment involves steaming veggies and boiling pasta on the stove. On completely different days, I anecdotally note the humidity in the RV stayed near 50% with the unit and near 70% without the unit. I'm going to the beach soon, I'll see if I stay comfortable.

great product
This little machine is awesome! Easy to operate, quiet, and great to increase the comfort level in a smaller size room when the humidity and heat index are oppressive. I bought 2-and am thinking of getting a whole house unit of some sort. It holds a 2 cup capacity, and I tested the TDS (total dissolved solids) of the water with my Total Water pitcher meter and it was just over 100- that is better than my home unfiltered tap water! And, good news- it does not require any special filters to be changed. Love it. Customer service- one unit came and was not working properly after7-10 days and they sent a replacement ASAP. Highly recommend

All in all? Look elsewhere, even if you're on a budget.
Sure, at first it kinda did the trick. I primarily used it in a small bedroom, near a poorly insulated window that experienced constant condensation/mildew issues throughout the year. The hygrometer I'd place nearby would register somewhat of a dip in humidity readings (but nothing drastic). Quickly realized it'd be a pain in the neck to empty out. Tilting it any manner of ways means that water would spill out from what seemed like a half-dozen different holes, orifices, seams. But at least when it was in operation it didn't leakโfor now (spoiler alert). Still, I wish the emptying process was more intuitive. I could never seem to drain it completely; there was always some water left in the tank no matter what direction I tilted it. However, after two months the unit suddenly wouldn't turn back on. I reached out to ProBreeze who promptly responded and, after exchanging visual confirmation about the issue, kindly offered to send me a replacement unit. Nifty, right? Well, fast forward another two months and then the replacement started leaking. Normally upon filling to capacity the unit would shut itself off and its light would turn yellow. Nope! On three occasions within about a two week span, the unit would overflow, leaving a puddle around its base. No yellow light, no automatic shut-offโjust wet furniture and carpet. At that point I again reached out to ProBreeze, who did issue a full refund my way. (It should be noted they were quick to reply and very kind in their responses! Kudos to them!) Instead of tossing the unit I gave it to my roommate who placed it on their windowsill and would be extra diligent about emptying the tank (without waiting for any automatic shut-off). Five months later and the unit's now buzzing loudly whenever turned on. We've officially given up on this piece of junk. I know it's only $40, and I know the company gave me a refund. But now I have TWO of these hunks of useless plastic to dispose of. You get what you pay for. And apparently I paid to have negligible dehumidification that was, after a constant battle to control how or when the water stayed in the tank, ultimately only suitable to a very small, confined space. The thing didn't even last the calendar year until winter rolled around... when I need it most. Spend your money elsewhere.

Ideal mini dehumidifier
The replacement mini dehumidifier works great, noise level is low, but not as quiet as the first one we've gotten. The one needed to be replaced was very loud, indicating that it was not working properly. I will still recommend it. The normal one looks good, occupies little space, and it collects water effectively. I am happy with this little machine.

Effective for small spaces
It successfully removes humidity from a bathroom. It makes a noticeable difference. This item is small yet effective.

Definitely works. Bathroom doesnt feel as humid. Low power consumption.
I placed it about 6 feet above the ground on top of my over the toilet cabinet and my bathroom doesn't feel as warm (from humidity) as it usually feels, which is good since I would get high amounts of mold in my bathroom at a fast rate. I have to replace the water tank every 4-5 days, not really a hassle. It didn't feel as effective when I left it on the ground for a couple of days, so it seems its most effective when above ground level. In regards to energy consumption, I have to wait another month to give it a better review, as my recent electric bill, (where my dehumidifier was on almost 24/7 for about 1-2 weeks) was slightly higher than I expected, though It may be from other things , so I want to wait until next month, since I would have had the machine on 24/7 for the whole month, to see how much energy it actually consumes. UPDATE: After going through my energy consumption history, the reason my electric bill was so high this past month was due the previous 2 readings were estimates so those months were estimated low, so when they did an actual reading this past month, it was much higher. But when averaged out, the energy consumption was a little below the average of my monthly energy consumption this past year. After leaving it on for almost 24/7 for one month, my Total electric consumption from 10/07-11/04 was 190 kWh, which is on the low end of my usual monthly power consumption, where I averaged about 237kWh a month over this past year (Nov 2018-Oct 2019), compared to 235kWh the same time last year (Nov 2017-Oct 2018). Based on this, I would say this dehumidifier can be left on 24/7 without impacting your electric bill and I would give it 5 stars for that. Since I am leaving it on 24/7, its lifespan would likely shorten, which is why I decided to get the 4-year protection plan, which was like 9 bucks. So you spend a little under 60 bucks total (accounting for tax and the protection plan), but I feel a difference when in the bathroom now, which I think is worth it. I will compare my power consumption again the following month (11/4 - 12/2), as my power consumption for the last 2 years have been about 280 kWh during the month of November. If there is any significant change I might update this again. I have updated this from 4 stars to 5. The machine feels effective. Price is reasonable, especially when you have a 4-year protection plan on it.

Shouldโve read the reviews earlier
Letโs start with the pros - I like the size, I like the noise level (minimal), I like the ease of use. I bought it and received it 7/19, it stopped working 9/7. Iโm bummed.

Perfect small space dehumidifier
I live in a tropical climate. Looking for a small dehumidifier to keep my understairs closet fresh. I store bulk food items there (oatmeal, cereal, etc) and without a humidifier the food spoils faster because of our tropical climate. Also, we have NO air conditioning. We just open our windows. Live 3 lots back from the beach. Lots of humidity. You get the point. This little unit does a great job. Iโve been running it since April 2020, so about 9 months and it continues to keep doing its job. The reservoir fills about every 3-5 days depending on the moisture in the air (if it has been rainy, etc). When it is full, if Iโm too busy or distracted to empty it, it just pauses. Nothing bad happens. Then I empty it and it continues. Easy enough to empty that my 7 yr old son can do it. Oatmeal and cereal seem to be lasting fine in the closet! I think where reviews are negative is when peopleโs expectations are unrealistic. Itโs a small unit. It doesnโt keep our closet bone dry like an A/C or powerful dehumidifier would. But it is perfect for the space and job, inexpensive, and Iโm satisfied. I just purchased the newer version advertised to try in my clothes closet. It should arrive in a few months. I wanted to try this one out first before buying another. In my clothes closet I have a heated โdehumidifierโ warm-air-circulator (Calframo brand, Iโve used off and on, some units only last a year) that is often used on house boats. It works fine too, but uses a consistent low-heat fan to keep moisture suspended in the air and prevent condensation and mildew. Different properties, different methods, different results. Both seem to work. Before doing any of this I was losing a lot of good to mildew and mold. Iโm curious to see what happens when I have both kinds of small space dehumidifiers in my clothes closet.

Good, but requires australian power adopter
Requires an Australian adaptor. Surprised that it does not come with the power connection compatible to Australian standards...??

Great dehumidifier for cold rooms!
I live on a boat and our back guestroom is rarely used (at least during the winter). It gets quite damp in there and in the adjacent wheelhouse, with condensation dripping down the windows and damp walls and bedding. I'd tried using a compressor dehumidifier but they don't really work well below about 18C, and they tend to stop working at all below about 15C. I decided to try this desiccant humidifier, and was delighted to find that it works beautifully! After a few hours on high the humidity had gone from 83 to 56%, and by the next morning the windows and walls were dry. I set it on low and it's stayed in the low 50% range in there, and the musty smell disappeared within a couple of days too. It worked so well that I started leaving the door to the wheelhouse open, and now it's nice and dry too! Very pleased with the unit so far, though I'm a bit concerned about how long it'll work for: it's a relatively new technology so may break down, and I'm also concerned about dust buildup in the desiccant wheel. I'll report back once I've had it for a year or so, but meanwhile very happy with it.
