Excellent product and very well made! It works perfectly and allows Step Up / Step Down from either 220-240V AC 50Hz to 110-120V AC 60HZ or from 110-120V AC 60Hz to 220-240V AC 50Hz. Extremely happy with this product as it does exactly as advertised and if you require a Step Up / Step Down Transformer this is one of the best quality units on the market at a very reasonable price.

Good transformer for the money. It has absolutely no frills like AVR (Auto voltage regulation), so this thing is basic, but that's what I was looking for, as my existing step-up/down with AVR was getting squirrely and detecting faults where there were none. I'm using this with 220v audio equipment that draws about 30W-50W, and there is no electrical noise I can pick up - presumably because this is likely just a 1:2 wound transformer.. Now for the 'bad': My input voltage is 122-123V (normal for the us, it's now nominally 120V), and this transformer just doubles that, so my output is 246V. That's fine for my equipment which has another transformer and a linear regulator in it, but you should be aware that 246V is slightly above even what you would see in the UK (which is nominally 240, unlike the rest of Europe, which is 230). There are other reviews where people plug hair dryers into this - obviously you're going to blow a fuse or - worse - overload the transformer. Check the wattage of what you hook up to it and leave a safety margin, certainly don't plug a 1800W hairdryer, kettle, or vacuum cleaner into a 500W transformer...

Works well with my vintage Singer 431G which is on UK power. Very quiet and runs smooth.

It works for my small device which only draw a little power out of it. So load is not an issue for me. Not sure it is good for travel (without a car) as it feels pretty heavy. Hope it last.

Works great stepping down the voltage on UK-made audio equipment.

Useless. The device arrived and it hasn’t worked from the first time I plugged it in and switched it on. It was set to the correct voltage so the issue is clearly with the device. Buy a different transformer - not this one.

Received the packaging with missing a power cable and the transformer was found to be damaged. Do not know whether able to make a claim or not for this case.
