Excellent Air con - Great buy!!
I highly rate this Aircon unit it does a fab job!! I have it in the living room which is approx 3.5m x 5m maybe a touch more and it cools the room down really quickly!! I've ran it on the hottest days we've had so far with no issues. It's much more compact and quiet than an old model one I had 5 years ago and works just as well. I don't find it noisey in comparison to other aircons or fans even, I turn the TV up a bit and it's just background noise. I haven't bought a window kit as yet as I have standard open out windows but even with the window open for the pipe it's working brilliantly. I find the pipe more than long enough, I am 5ft 6 and fully stretched it goes to my chin!! As it is an Aircon you don't need to place it blowing on you it cools the full room. And the fact it's a dehumidifier too is a bonus as I needed one of those. I am going to purchase the same unit in a lower btu for my bedroom! I have fibromyalgia and do not cope well in the heat so this is a lifesaver for me, I bought it on offer making it even better value. The only downside I have found was getting the pipe on the back of the unit but it's on now and working brilliantly, it can even get too cold lol!! If you want a cooler room buy one and you will have one in minutes of plugging it in! Just check your room size and get an appropriate BTU, I just googled, I could of got away with a lower rating for my room but I am very pleased with this unit, I am glad I didn't get a more expensive one now! The unit I find is more responsive to the remote control than the buttons on top of it but that is fine. Power is excellent, ease of use is excellent.

Cool product.
This unit is great for its size and output, we used this for cooling the bedroom and landing at night and daytime in my home office on a weekend. It performed well but the vent tends to turn downwards so I used some masking tape to keep it pointing where I wanted. I also coverrd the LED readout to stop the light when dark. It did a great job on the hottest days of the year and the nights too. We would not be without it now when it is hot, we now get a good nights sleep even in muggy hot nights. The noise is not too loud and you dont notice it after a while. Great that it has a remote control, Would I buy one again, yes.

Good
Works well, check the area it should work for, used in room much smaller than listed and works very well, has good functions, using as air con. Not that quiet but I think it’s good for how cold it gets the room. Quite a good looking sleek machine, easy to get working and understand the instructions.

Worth the price and works really well
Was slightly dubious being cheaper than a lot of models out there, but it works really well. It is fairly noisy, but on the ‘sleep’ mode it is quieter. It’s not so loud that it disturbs me trying to get to sleep. The box it was delivered in was brilliant as it didn’t require me to lift the unit out (as it’s understandably very heavy!) as the box, when the seals were cut, lifted off over the unit - simple thing but it made it a lot easier setting it up on my own.Setting it up was pretty straight forward as well. The most difficult bit was fitting the tube to the attachment to go out the window and on the back of the unit - it still keeps coming out when I move it but once it’s attached and turned on, it’s fine.I couldn’t attach the window seal kit which comes with it, due to the way my window opens, but I just put the hose out of the window and close it to, and it still works absolutely fine. I do this, turn it on, and close my bedroom door, for about 60-90 mins before going to bed, in which time it has really cooled down my room significantly! I then have the option of leaving it on for a while when I go to bed or turning it off and it’s already cooler.Genuinely the best purchase I’ve ever made! Wish I had done it sooner. Makes sleeping in the hot weather much easier.

Really glad I got it
Our room is in the attic with a ceiling to floor window that gets direct sun at the hottest hours of the day. Fans do nothing but circulate warm air. I was in desperate need of a solution. Whilst coolers are cheaper I wasn't sure they'd do the job. It's not just warm in the bedroom it's... imagine going to the sauna in the desert yes horrible. This wasn't my original pick for air con due to not having many reviews but this was the cheaper option from a bunch I picked with reviews that were helpful. Now wislt I'm not someone to leave a review, I have to here.Firstly, it makes no more noise than your average fan. It was easy to set up. I had to buy a window kit separately only because of my type of window doesn't match the kit provided, which I knew was the case from the listing so no problem there. But most importantly I went from eating ice lollies in bed with 3 fans on around the average sized room (yes, 3) to needing to cover myself - it does cool the entire room! Another plus for me which might be personal, a fan blowing directly at me gave me headaches, this isn't the case with the air con. And, value for money compared to the asking price of other brands. Remote wasn't a must for me but it is handy.Thankful for this air con find. If in doubt, honestly, its worth the buy!

Very good but noisy
I ordered this unit long before the heatwave. And am I glad I did!Pros- small enough to fit anywhere- big enough to cool down a small room- wheels are such a plus! You easily move it from room to room, on carpet or hard floor- easy to set up. Just plug in and ‘play- I have a smart meter display and it shows a low electricity consumptionCons- a bit noisy for me. Thankfully, I have noise cancelling iPod air that cancel the noise out, but it is as noisy as a big fan- does not cool down as quickly as I would like to. However, we are experiencing extreme temperatures it may not be geared up for.All in all, I am pleased with my purchase. Gave 4 stars because of the noise.

Effective *READ*
This is effective and will get you through the hottest summer days in the UK. Also, we live in a top floor flat in a Victorian house and we have an attic that seems to collect heat even in mild warm weather and our bedroom is toaster at night even though it can be very cool outside and with the window wide open at night. We use this for maybe 20 minutes to cool the room down and we sleep so comfortable afterwards. It does make noise but we can sleep through it. It’s the heat that makes us turn in our beds all night long. I don’t know how long this is going to last. But because we don’t use it everyday in the summer I do expect it to last a few years in which case it will be money well spent.*NOTE* For the Britons complaining that it’s not effective: educate yourselves about air-conditioners before making a purchase. This is an 8000 BTU unit. That means it is suitable only for a room no more that 15 Square meters. So that will be a small room and if you live in a high ceiling flat or house you need to take that into consideration too. And if it’s a room with a lot of windows that get direct sunlight that should also be taken into consideration. Direct sunlight entering windows heats up a room like a greenhouse.Getting an air conditioner not powerful enough for the room you are cooling makes it more likely it won’t be effective when it’s really hot. Also the compressor in the machine will be working non-stop as it attempts to bring the temperature down to the set temperature. That shouldn’t be the case if you get the right machine for the room. A compressor working non stop means that it will eventually break down a lot quicker too.Last but not least, only buy an air conditioner in the midst of winter. There will be more choice and a LOT cheaper. For reference, I bought this unit in January for just £170 new in 2021

Air conditioning unit
"The HOMCOM 8000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner is a decent choice for cooling small to medium-sized rooms, but it has a few limitations. On the positive side, it’s very versatile with its 4-in-1 functionality—cooling, dehumidifying, ventilating, and a fan mode. The cooling performance is good for spaces up to 27m², and it’s been effective in keeping my living room comfortable during warmer days. The remote control and 24-hour timer are convenient features, especially when I want to adjust the settings without getting up. The window mount kit was fairly easy to install, though it took a bit of time to get everything fitted properly. The A energy efficiency rating is reassuring since it doesn’t seem to use too much electricity, which is a bonus for saving on energy bills. However, it’s not perfect. The unit is quite loud, especially when running at higher settings, which can be distracting if you’re trying to work or sleep. It’s also a bit bulky, so you’ll need to make sure you have enough space to place it comfortably. While the cooling is effective, it takes a little while to cool down the room, especially on very hot days.Overall, the HOMCOM 8000 BTU air conditioner is a good option if you’re looking for an affordable and versatile unit for a small space. Just keep in mind the noise level and size when considering where to use it."
