GIR Silicone Spatula Turner – Mini Flip, Red

Love GIR products! The first one I got was the skinny spatula, and I loved it. I have had it for almost five years and am just starting to see some wear on it, which I think it good for a silicone product and I use them A LOT. I had the opportunity to get the mini flip and it is right on par and is as expected! These things are super durable, don't stick, and are very heat-resistant. The material and feel are sleek but not slippery, and it feels really nice. They have great color options too; I got the "Slate" color, which is like a grayish blue. The mini flip is an interesting spatula size - don't be fooled by the "mini" in the name.. it is still a great size that can accomplish plenty of tasks. As mentioned, super durable and has a nice thickness to it without being overly thick or too thin. It also has a good amount of flexibility to it - sturdy enough without being rigid but not too bendy that it cant hold up under something heavier. I do not have to worry about melting, which is huge, and they are dishwasher safe. They are very easy to clean by hand, too. Really good quality.

It is definitely on the small side. But has a great ability to 'get under" a pancake (or an egg) and especially relative to the former is very very capable.

The shorter size is good for fried eggs and smaller pancakes. It's sturdy and doesn't bend when picking up heavier foods. The silicone doesn't scratch cookware either. I also have 2 light-colored GIR turners that I've used for over 5 years, they don't stain, and still look brand new. They go through the dishwasher and come out clean no matter what was on them. These turners are a good value and I know they will last many years.

Wish I could give 10 stars. I've bought a number of silicone spatulas, and this is the best!! It gets under food whether eggs, potato fries, pancakes no problem. All the others I have to maneuver the pan and slide the food to one side. This is a game changer.

These are truly the best spatulas ever. They don’t have any ridges where things can get stuck, they wash in the dishwasher great, and they function perfectly as spatulas. I replaced all my other kitchen spatulas with the GIR ones!

Great to use turned over if you are left handed.

This mini size spatula seems like it’s too small to be useful, but its great. I’ve been using it for about a month now. It’s just big enough to work with everything I’ve cooked (grilled cheese, eggs over easy, omelet, cookies, canapés , fish sticks, ground turkey) but a bit smaller than normal so it fits into places and angles other spatulas won’t. For example, when I use my tiny pan and fill it with omelet, I can still get the spatula in under the edge and lift the entire omelet. It has flexible silicone at the tip, so functions like a cooking/mixing spatula that I can use to scrape every last bit of cooking oil into the garbage (rather than down my drain). I’ve even used it to scrape the bowl clean when making cookies. Though the end is flexible, it somehow still works as an edge to cut apart eggs or crumble ground meats in the pan. Just great.

Great spatula. Was recommended by the New York Times so I purchased it. Very pleased. Dishwasher safe and has held up well. Note: It is a bit on the small side which I knew so if you are looking for a wide surface area this isn't it.

My favourite all round frying spatula. It is compact and stirs well in my saucier.

I purchased the large version of this a few years back and can't fault the quality. This new smaller one is great when using a smaller frying pan. Heat resistant and all one piece with is great for hygiene, I've noticed my other spatulas always end up with old food finding it's way into the bit where the handle joins on. Overall would recommend this brand, its sturdy and has the right amount of flex at the end.
