Fabulous, affordable little microwave
Summary: This is a fabulous little microwave that does everything it's suppose to do and does it well. Background: I work in a small office and, after the communal staff break room was shrunk by 2/3 to make room for more equipment, realized that I probably would do well to bring in a small microwave and dorm refrigerator to help ease the congestion in our now minuscule break room. I've been using this microwave now for the past couple months and can wholeheartedly recommend it. Pros: - relatively small footprint - sufficiently easy to use controls - glass turntable that is easy to clean - well lit interior (bright enough, anyway) - sufficient power to easily heat up leftovers and warm up coffee Cons: - none really so far This is just a good, basic, quite affordable little microwave that is perfect for light duty, single person use. I can't speak to its longevity - only time will tell - but for now, I can recommend this without hesitation.

Great low-cost microwaves!
Wow, what a great Microwave -- and a bargain to boot! My wife and I bought one of these several years ago (smaller and less powerful) and used it all the time in the tiny kitchen of our townhouse (even with the limited space, it fits about anywhere). Recently we began a little-bit-here, little-bit-there kitchen upgrade project and bought this more powerful version, which is about the same size outside (or so it seems) as one we used earlier. It is bigger inside though, which is nice (and makes it much more versatile). It hasn't held up for years yet, but for ease of use, features, interior space, and the excellent performance, we like it quite a bit.

Good price, fast shipping, works well for my household
My little microwave came in today (super fast shipping at a really good price) and it is exactly what I needed since my old micro was on its final leg (only the express defrost was working). It is a small microwave which helps me save space. It is a perfect size for my home because there are only two of us and we use the microwave for prep work and/or small meals to warm up. It is a light item so it needed to have something placed on top to keep it from sliding a bit when I opened the front door but I had something on my old micro so it isn't a change for me. So far, I warmed up my corn chowder soup from lunch with ease. My son used it to make popcorn. We haven't had micro popcorn in a really long time. The front panel is a bit small so I think people with not great eyesight may want to consider that. If you look at it straight on and in good lighting, it isn't so bad but if it is at an angle with low lighting, the panel labels are a bit hard to discern. That's about the only thing so far that I can say against it. Otherwise, I'm pretty happy with it and it was a solid price.

This Danby model is perfect for that
I wanted a small microwave to heat food more than cook it in the first place. For example, I bake a large casserole in my oven, keep it in the fridge, then later heat meal-sized portions. This Danby model is perfect for that. Occasionally, I'll prepare a frozen dinner or pizza and its good for that too as long as the food container does not exceed the 9 inch (or so) interior rotating cooking surface. One thing to be aware of, and that is this is a 700 watt microwave. Most food packages show microwave times for 1100 watt microwaves. This means you must cook things longer with 700 watts. No problem: Do an internet search for "microwave 700 watt conversion chart" and you'll see plenty of charts you can print. I posted one I printed to the inside of a cupboard door and consult it when I need to convert the 1100 cooking time shown on the food package for my 700 watt Danby. Example: 4 minutes at 1100 watts shown on package = 6 minutes 17 seconds on a 700 watt microwave. This is a small sized unit with 700 watts of power. It may no be for everyone. However, it meets my needs exactly. Also, it looks and performs well. I have had no problems with it. I'm a satisfied customer.

Insufficient cooking power and too small
Old adage -- 'you get what you pay for' -- comes into play on this microwave. I'll start with the positives: it is small and the perfect size for a small apartment or dorm room. This microwave is VERY small both inside and out. It's a decent looking piece of equipment. Has all the quick, one-touch buttons (popcorn, beverage, potato, for example.) Another important feature included is power levels. This has all 10 power levels. It has a rotating, removable rotating glass turntable, as well. The negative: it lacks sufficient power. And isn't that the most important thing about a microwave? It is for me. The first thing I cooked with new Danby was a basic frozen dinner. Followed the directions on the frozen dinner exactly. Microwaved on high for four minutes. Stirred food. Microwaved again on high for 2.5-3.5 minutes, as instructed. I chose the maximum of 3.5 minutes. The bell alerted me it was finished cooking; sadly, dinner was absolutely cold. I put it back into microwave for another minute...still not hot. Again, back into new Danby for another 90 seconds and finally, it was close to the correct temperature (still a bit on the 'lukewarm' side.). A small frozen dinner took an extra 2.5 minutes to cook -- that is 2.5 minutes longer than recommended cook time on the package. This particular frozen dinner is one I cooked frequently in my old microwave. In my old (now dead) microwave, that dinner was fully cooked -- three minutes and 15 seconds faster -- than in the Danby. The second item I cooked was popcorn. Guess what? The interior of the microwave is too small to allow a regular bag of microwave popcorn to turn properly on spinning wheel. Luckily, it did not burn the popcorn however, the Danby did leave me with half a bag of unpopped kernels. While the microwave looks quite nice, as soon as you touch it, you'll realize, it is a very cheaply made appliance. The high end microwave I replaced lasted over 10 years. My old microwave (that I miss so very much) cost five times what this Danby cost. It's my fault for buying the most inexpensive microwave I could find. I wrongly assumed that even a cheap microwave would cook the basics. This simply doesn't. I would not recommend this product to anyone except possibly a student who needs something tiny for a dorm room. If I had a chance to re-buy a microwave, I'd bite the bullet and buy something more expensive, more powerful, larger, etc. $60 lesson learned. I will probably buy another microwave and donate this to Goodwill. UPDATE: After dealing with this 'nightmare microwave' for nearly a month, I bought one that actually works (Panasonic.) I would steer clear of the Danby brand. I have nothing good to say about it. Learned my lesson. If you buy something that is cheap, it will work like something cheap.

Decent microwave
I remember the first microwave my family bought. They picked it up at costco, it had a dial that didn't go lower than 1 minute and didn't have a turntable inside, I think those became standard years later. The dial wouldn't start if you tried to set it for 30 seconds or whatever, so you'd have to standby and wait if you needed something heated for less than a minute. I thought it was the best invention ever. Fast forward too many years to admit and our trusty microwave died on us (not the one with the dial, that one was given to me when I went off to college and my idiot roommate killed it by trying to heat up mac n' cheese with a spoon still in the bowl). So we got this one. Waiting for it to arrive was excrutiating. I didn't realize how much I'd come to depend on it. I heat tea and coffee pretty much all day long. I use it to soften butter or cream cheese. It's the perfect out of the way spot for proofing dough. Leftovers for three? Easy and practically instantaneous. So I was beyond excited when this microwave finally arrived. It was a bit different than our last micro. For example our old micro had the fast buttons; baked potato, beverage, etc. It also had a 30 sec button for quick heat ups, but you could use the number pad to enter a time for cooking; 1 min 15 seconds or whatever. On this new micro you have to push the TIMED COOK button BEFORE you enter the numbers or else entering 4 turns into 4 minutes! This is a change that I don't care for and have been a bit worried will turn disastrous sometime when I try to heat a cold chicken breast for 45 seconds and instead it turns to 9 minutes of heating! But other than this small quibble its a nice little machine.

Works well except the beeper died.
I ordered this and received it promptly on December 8. Set up was easy, and it worked as advertised. It works well cooking, reheating and defrosting. The only reason I didn't give this a higher rating is that a couple of weeks ago, I noted that the beeper sound was weaker. It has been progressively weaker and as of today, I can barely hear it when standing right next to the microwave. That makes it pretty useless as a timer and inconvenient when cooking something. Having read that you either have to take it into a dealer (not one close by) or ship it, I haven't decided if I am going to pursue it. I may contact Amazon customer service (which is always great) and ask what they recommend.

Great microwave
One night, while making supper, our microwave up and died on us. So, we were in need of a new one. Now, our family seems to go through many microwaves. None seem to last too long for us. We have had expensive ones in the past and after they did not last, we decided to go a cheaper route. My husband and I looked over Amazon for one that would work for us. We also have old wiring, so we can't go too high in wattage, making it more difficult to find a good microwave that will do the job and hopefully last, but not too expensive. I came across this one. I had never heard of the name before, but it did have great reviews and the price was right and it was Prime Shipping. This came 2 days after I ordered it and it was shipped nicely. Taking the microwave out of the box and putting it where I need it, we finally got to examine it. It is very nice designed and was easy to figure out. What we love is the Express Buttons. You press 1-6 if your needs are between 1 minute and 6 minutes. No need to hit time cook, put the numbers in and hit start. You literally just press 1-6. Another nice feature is the +30 second button. It is on the start button, so if you are cooking and you think it needs a few more seconds, just hit the start button for another 30 seconds. Other features are defrost by weight, potato, pizza, drink settings. They are very self explanatory, but the instructional booklet helps explain things nicely. So far, this is a very nice microwave and I hope it lasts me more than 1 year

Gets er done!
Been using this microwave for quite some time now, no complaints. Works as expected. Very decent build quality. Like most microwaves, it does not remember the time when disconnected from the power for even a moment. But that's just a petty complaint. Fast shipping, plug and cook like you'd expect!

Black, modern, functional, affordable, and just works.
I had an old Danby that I loved, it broke after 8 years and I was glad to have found this closest replacement. Controls are very handy as you have the one-touch start button for 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 min respectively. Pressing START itself will start the microwave for 30 seconds and pressing it again while running adds 30 secs each time. It's literally the fewest number of presses possible to get the job done. Some may complain it doesn't have enough power, but what's a few more seconds to wait in exchange for a compact, sleek, and good looking microwave. It's the smallest, functional unit for my kitchen counter top which is cluttered as it is. I don't know why there aren't more manufacturers competing in this size category!

Very low 700 Watts.
700 watts is too low for most heating tasks. Requires 2 mins to heat a cup of coffee!
