Patterned Fun Origami Sail Boat Baby Mobile

This mobile has 20 boats (2 boats are glued together to make one "boat") that are approx. 6 inches wide, 5 inches tall and 2 inches thick. They have white ribbon glued on to hang them from the mobile kit. Each boat is attached at a different height on the mobile. The boats are light so they move with any breeze or change in air pressure. For this sail boat mobile I used a fun mix of double sided card stock in shades of red, blue, green, orange and yellow in fun patterns like polka dots, chevron, houndstooth, stars and honeycomb. As with most of my pieces this mobile came about because of a request. This time my sister was having a baby and it was going to be a little boy with a nautical themed nursery. So I set work finding boat origami models. After a lot of trial and folding I found the best looking origami sail boat. I then had to figure out how to attach the boats to the mobile kit to make it look really nice. I was really happy with the end result and so is my nephew! My sister put it over his changing table and it makes for a much more pleasant diaper changing experience! Total length of mobile is approx. 28" long and total width of the mobile is approx. 20". Metal mobile kit is 22"x16". Mobile has a loop on the top for easy hanging from a hook in the ceiling, so it can be displayed over a crib or a changing table or in front of a window or anywhere really!! This mobile and all the items in my shop come from a smoke free and pet free home and studio. ***There will be some variation in the origami paper used on each mobile because the pieces are handmade and placed, so please expect some variation from the picture.**** Inside display highly recommended.
