Best tool for the job!
This is THE spark plug socket you want for your 5.4 3V engine. Proper fit, plenty of length to get on the plug with no need for a bunch of extensions. Just keep it straight and in line with the spark plug, otherwise you run the risk of breaking the plug as you remove it.

Worked perfectly, make sure you buy the Lisle tool #65600 with it. I broke 3 out of 8 plugs.
