Household Essentials Tilt-Out Laundry Sorter Cabinet with Shutter Front, White, White Wood Shutter

Family of 5, in US, living in house. We got for our laundry room as a place to put all the laundry that is just tossed in there, but not ready to be part of a major wash load. We purchased 2 units. One for whites and darks, the other for towels. Look at the dimensions carefully as these are not huge containers. They're great for our purposes (overflow) , or for a bedroom/bathroom. For a family, they're not large enough to store several days worth of laundry. For the unit - It took a little bit of time to assemble and nothing too crazy. Lots of pieces. I reccomend getting a small furniture ratchet (for screws) and wood glue (for added stability). Material is fiber board, and at this price point, should really expect that. Overall quality is really great, and looks amazing... again esp for the price point. We purchased new handles because the misses preference of a different style. Overall, I highly reccomend.

I really like this hamper. Although the bags that the clothes go in are pretty small so I took them out and just filled up the bin. Well, the bottom of the bin is really flimsy amd it popped out of the small grooves it slides into. Perhaps gluing it in will prevent that....I'll update that later.

I needed something that wasn’t your normal “dorm room” hamper as my master bathroom doesn’t have the space for one and this is in the hallway to the master bedroom. I wanted it to look like a piece of furniture. I was thrilled to see this option. Upon unboxing I noticed small defects in interior pieces that were annoying. I knew they were there but they wouldn’t be visible from the outside. As I continued to assemble there were more obvious flaws in outside panels including a major one on the front slatted door. There was also damage to the side panel that would’ve been facing anyone walking in the hallway that seemed to have been a repair to previous damage that was so haphazardly done that I was shocked it passed quality control standards. There were glue fingerprints and paint drips in a VERY obvious place. When my replacement arrived I had intended to swap out the damaged pieces for undamaged ones. The unfortunate situation was that 1/2 the pieces that needed replacing were also damaged in the second shipment. Upon contacting Amazon support my option was to send both units back and then reorder as they cannot replace an item more than once. I wasn’t satisfied with this answer as I had already invested time into assembling this decent size piece, then had to wait for a replacement, receive damaged replacement items, disassemble, sort out the best pieces possible, then reassemble and return. Only after I suggested a partial refund for my wasted time and aggravation did that become an option. (Originally I was told there was no other option beyond returning both pieces and I asked to have my situation escalated ) After all is said and done I was issued a small refund, I picked pieces that were the least damaged to keep, and Amazon arranged UPS to pick up the other unit from my house so I didn’t have to bring it to a UPS store. Overall my grievance isn’t with Amazon but with the manufacturer of this product. I hope this review either leads to better quality control practices or keeps others from dealing with the same headache I have.

Cabinet itself is really nice, holds an entire week worth of my laundry, love the back it matches my bedroom wood furniture only this was very hard to assemble the pull out part, I had 3 People try to figure it out and in the end only 1 of my tilt outs are attached to the cabinet other side I am just careful with using the tilt part it's not attached to the bottom of the cabinet.

Updated 2019 - I took away one star because the pegs that literally hold the tilt out cabinets are flimsy and not properly sized to stay on track 100% of the time. I am constantly having to realign the tiltout cabinet boxes or else it’s very clunky. I will be replacing this whole system with a cabinet drawer pullout system for recycling from ikea soon so, I guess this was good enough for when I needed it for a few years. ORIGINAL 4-star review: This is actually a nice solid piece of furniture. It took some time to put it together, however the instructions are fairly clear and methodical. Unfortunately there is an issue with the pull out function after 2 weeks of use: 1. one of the metal stoppers has fallen into the unit and the only way to get it out is to deconstruct the whole thing - not going to happen. 2. One of the drawer/pull out cabinets is now sticking for no apparent reason other than daily use. I mean - this is a you get what you pay for situation. I modified mine by adding library card drawer pulls (so I could label Recycling and Paper) and added casters to the bottom - be careful with drilling your screws into the bottom if you do this! I eyeballed my screws and wish I had 1/8" shorter screws that didn't pop through the top, oh well. This is a glorified recycling center that had the exact right dimensions to fit in my kitchen space. The slatted doors allow for air flow and the "laundry hampers" inside are the perfect size for 2 weeks of recycling (everything is rinsed well first). If you plan on using this for laundry - the hampers are actually really small/skinny/shorter than you would think. And the dowel system that holds them in place is not perfect. I am happy because the dimensions are right for me - measure and think about your needs!

I bought this laundry sorter to use as a recycling bin just like the most people, who reviewed the item, which was very helpful. To put together isn’t hard as the manual with the instructions is clear, but it is time consuming. Took me about 1 1/2 hours to assemble as I ran into some small issues. I suggest the use of power tool as this cabinet assembly requires a lot of screws. As you can see on the pictures I use one side for paper and the other for plastic, glass and metal. I chose to keep the linen laundry bags for extra sturdiness and put paper or plastic bag inside them. The only concern I have is the weird odor coming from the wood. I think it’s the paint that smells. 10 days later my kitchen still smells not as strong. Some of the ribs were misplaced and a little bend throughout transportation. Personally this doesn’t bother me and overall very happy with the choice I’ve made buying this product.

This laundry hamper has made my laundry routine so much easier—and my space a lot tidier! It’s the perfect size, holding a full load (or two) without looking bulky or taking up too much room. This took me over a month to assemble- in part because the wood kept splintering and I would have to glue and piece it back together. Now it’s finally ‘assembled’ and the holes don’t line up so they don’t tilt out correctly. The bag that hangs on the inside is wider than it is deep so it’s hardly going to hold any laundry. It look alright at a distance from the outside but functionality is not what was described. I’m really disappointed and now stuck with this for the time being

Great looks like a piece of furniture . 2 baskets ideal for separating light and dark washes.

Fairly easy to put together & the instructions were well written. The materials are mostly particle board - but I expected that for the price. The bins open easily & it’s much nicer to look at than regular laundry hampers. Overall impressed.

Item is of very low quality and screws provided is too short. I could not assemble it at all. Return period is over I hope Amazon can advise me if I can get a refund ?
