Great Camera
Purchased the camera to make pictures of a construction project. I am very happy with the device and tested it in the office to see who was eating all the trail mix :) Very easy to setup and create a schedule for making pictures at certain intevals. For $100 the images are of great quality. I can record the whole project easily on one 2GB SD card making 1 picture every 15 minutes from 6AM to 5PM, 5 days a week. I changed batteries every 2 months to make sure it would still run, but they were not dead yet. The software for PC is very easy to use and allows you to easily create a video, just choose the resolution and images per second and press create video. The only negative is that you can only make videos using 300 pictures, so you have to select 300 images at the time to create multiple video's. Using Windows Moviemaker you can add the videos together to create one longer video.

Love these cameras, have several, they work great
Got this for a construction job, it's the fourth, they work great. Batteries are predictable in usage, depending upon the frequency of the still shots you set it for. I get about 2 weeks from a set taking shots every fifteen minutes. That's not bad. I have seen some reviews of people having various problems, but I have not experienced them. My only difficulty was in opening the clamps to change the memory card, which are very tight, but I guess that's to help keep the moisture out. It works. Now that I have had a few of them in the field for nearly a year, I am seeing some rust on the door hinges. I expect I can clean it off and lubricate it later on, but so far it's not hurting the functioning of it. It would be nice to see some upgrades in the bracket to mount this. I am not using the strap on a tree. The brackets can be a bit fragile. I have not broken any, but they are tricky to get mounted to a metal fence or metal fence post, such as is used on construction sites. I wound up putting it on the fencing instead of the post, which makes it vulnerable to movement.

Good Product
Good product...does what it says it will do...would have liked to have been able to have more control over the settings (i.e, use on different days or sporadic days, esp if you are not near the location) the field of view is to narrow, also the viewfinder cannot be accessed if the camera is attached to a solid surface such as a tree. This can make positioning the camera difficult....Positives are its rugged enclosure....

Good toy, poor FOV, poor battery usage
I wanted to try this out, it seems to work well, but has a few drawbacks. The field of view is pretty small, so you need to be far away from the subject. If you are attaching this to a pole or other solid object, you can't see through the viewfinder, so some of my pictures weren't aimed properly. Battery life: with 4 double AA batteries this would generally last a day and a half, with a 10s delay between pictures, and 14 hours of daylight (turns off automatically at night. Exposure: videos often flickered due to changing lighting conditions and clouds, not a huge drawback, but a steadier exposure value would be better Generally useful, but not a high quality camera.

Great Idea - Junk camera
This camera first came and would not program, I sent it back. I was impressed by the rapid response and the next unit worked. It does lack some flexibility but otherwise, I was relatively pleased. I now have used the camera for about a year. The batteries do not last long and if set up for several days, somehow it will shut itself off after a few shots or might run 1 day and not the next. From day one the setting for 1 minute took pictures 3 minutes apart and other settings were about 50% longer than the program said it was. Finally, the focus...it quit me this week, so it is stuck on 2' or so regardless where you twist the dials. Enough. It is garbage and I highly recommend you try something else...anything else. This one goes to the round file. The software works pretty good or it wouldn't even deserve one star...

Wingscapes TimelapseCam 8.0
Recently purchased several of these newer models to supplement the older versions we have been using for a couple years now with great results. Very easy to use & set up and picture & video quality is remarkable. Time lapse shooting at various intervals from 10 seconds to 1 day, there is a setting for any purpose. I typically use the 10 second interval for projects taking 8 hours or less. Sometimes we set up more than one camera on a job to capture different perspectives. For example during a demolition & reconstruction project that may take 5 months, we have one camera set on 10 or 30 seconds to detail the demolition process and another one set on a longer interval to capture the entire project from demo to completion. We use iMovie & iPhoto on a Mac to edit and make movies from our stills. A great investment!

Arrived very promptly, easy to use, full instructions. However, when you type in the given link to download your free Time Lapse software the following appears: We have found that newer operating systems and updates have caused a loss of full functionality of the time lapse software. Due to this, we have taken down the software. We are working to resolve this issue with an update to accommodate these recent changes to respective operating systems. However, we have found a few free programs that create Time Lapse videos and work just as well. We have listed these below. If you are trying to view your images on your PC then it will have a default program installed to view your images and will not require a software download. This was updated in January 2018, and they haven't resolved the issue by September 2019. However, they do give links to "free" downloads which are ok, although, of course, you need to pay to upgrade so that you don't get annoying messages flashing up. Nothing new there. Having said all that, and having mastered the basics, it's a good quality little camera, and I'm happy enough with it.
