Great mechanical keyboard for a first-timer. Not for an avid typist.

I'm going to be straight honest here: The keyboard is a strong 4 stars but I got to take a star off for lack of rigidity. Here's an elaborated description:If you're looking for a better mechanical keyboard, a new mechanical keyboard, or a first mechanical keyboard; you should make sure you do a lot of research and not pick this keyboard as your FIRST choice. I bought a Rosewill mechanical keyboard with Cherry MX Blue keys, which are amazing. Comparing that keyboard tot his newly bought keyboard, I would not use this on a daily basis. This mechanical keyboard is good but that's it. The keyboard base is a heavy plastic and feels hollow when typing as the key caps hits the plastic base. It gives the key sounds a lower tone after each click. After typing a hard key, you will hear a reverberation somewhere in the keyboard due to the hollow design of the keyboard. If you like mechanical keyboard and you have one but you wanted something similar to a Razer gaming keyboard, well you won't get close to those kinds of keyboard if you think of buying this. These keys have a hollow tone to them and more the clicky noises of the switches are very slight but audible. The loudest sound you hear are the sounds of the plastic keys hitting the relatively light and hollow keyboard structure itself. It's not a fully metal keyboard so you won't feel "satisfied" when you're typing on this keyboard; if you're comparing it to a Razer Keyboard. This is by no means a BAD keyboard, it's just not what you may expect. This keyboard may suit a person if they NEVER had a mechanical keyboard. If you're thinking of upgrading to a better keyboard, DON'T get this keyboard. Most likely, your keyboard is better than this. I gave this keyboard to my sister and this is her first mechanical keyboard. She loves it because she's not an avid typer on a mechanical keyboard. On the flip side, I am an avid typer with mechanical keys. I for one HATE these keys. They are a cheap and hollow plastic that are not what I expected. If you don't buy a wrist rest, you will get fatigued on your wrists and on the back of your hands when you're typing for a while.I bought this keyboard thinking that I would be able to upgrade my mechanical keyboard to a better keyboard experience similar to Razers but I was wrong. At least I can give it to my sister who enjoys typing on it.Summary:• DON'T get this keyboard if you're thinking of an upgrade; your current mechanical keyboard is most likely better!• DON'T get this keyboard if you're thinking of getting a "cheap" keyboard if you tried out a Razer keyboard for the first time. You are better off with a 60-70 dollar mechanical keyboard without actually spending over a 100 for those Razer keyboards to have a similar experience.• DO get this keyboard if this is your first mechanical keyboard and don't really care for much about gaming. If you're going to type on this then this should be fine for a fast typer and a regular user wanting to have a cheap mechanical keyboard.• AGAIN, I'm emphasizing that this keyboard is ideal for a first user on a mechanical keyboard.Other notes:You CAN'T change the color on the keyboard to have a monocolor theme to it. You CAN change the pattern of the lighting of the LEDs.

Good Mechanical Keyboard + Great Price = Excellent Deal

Here is the gist of this review: By itself, the keyboard is worth four stars, but I bumped it up to five stars because of its great price - a full-sized keyboard, that is also mechanical, and with RGB lighting effects and animation, for under $50 is an excellent value. The reason why I took off a star for the product is because it does not feel like a high-quality mechanical keyboard, like those from Logitech, Corsair, etc. The keys give a less meaty and substantial feedback, and the quality of the plastic keys is not as good. Still, weighing the price into the overall big picture, I still think this is a great deal. It also comes with 12 extra generic keys, and the key puller mechanism. There is a row of function keys, and dedicated multimedia keys. It is also splash proof and water-resistant, meaning if you spill liquid on it, it would still work(although I would advise, of course, to dry it as quickly as possible). Most big-name mechanical keyboards are around $100 and up, so if you don't have a need for such prices, why not give something like this a try? For sure, it is much better than standard cheap keyboards. Once you go mechanical, it is truly difficult to go back.I was provided with a review sample so I can make an honest assessment of its quality and functionality to hopefully provide you with a more informed buying decision in the case that you are looking to buy a mechanical keyboard.
