Was easy enough for my 4 year old to do. All the paint worked great. Wasn't dried up.

Love it!
My 8-year-old daughter pleaded for this nutcracker for her birthday when she saw it in a catalog! She REALLY wanted to decorate her own to add to our nutcracker collection for Christmas! But she is kind of a perfectionist and gets easily frustrated and defeated when art projects don't turn out as they appear in her mind...so I was skeptical! I was sure this would begin as a fun activity and end in disaster...but I was wrong! It's sooooo cute! The truly saving grace if this set is that the paints are opaque so if you accidentally get black paint on a part that you meant to paint yellow, you can go back over it with yellow and it will cover the black! Excellent! It saved us from a meltdown for sure! And this also helped her practice patience and perseverance in getting her nutcracker "just right! By using a slow and steady hand on the details! Certainly this is not for every child...but for our detail- oriented kiddo, it turned out to be a huge hit!!
