Monitor 2k has 'display port'. My mac has thunderbolt 2. Will this cable work to connect them?

I don’t think this cable will work for MacBook. And that is why I returned it.

when you wiggle the miniDP/Thunderbolt cable (smaller end) does it blank out the screen and cause it to flicker? Using macbook pro 15 2015 retina

I am using it on Macbook pro 15. Mid 2015 no issues

Will this cable support 1920x1080 @ 240hz?

This cable says it is for max 4K @ 60Hz. Probably you are looking for this one: https://www.amazon.com/Accell-mDP-DP-1-4-DisplayPort/dp/B07H48BL1J/
