A clear, interesting and compelling case for net zero

Great positive perspective
The main thing that stands out about this book is that it shows the scope and possibility of immediate action on climate change and the climate crisis. There is so much frustration about inaction from governments across the world and postponing the most important decisions of our time. This book proves that we can do something about it now and that it makes sense for everybody - economies included. Dr Hampshire-Waugh shows that it is time for the powers that be to act fast - No excuses.

A great read
I've been interested in researching this topic for a while but have struggled to find a publication that tackled it in a non bias and comprehensive fashion, so I was very happy to come across this new release. I don't have an ecological, economical, political or scientific background but I very much enjoyed the read; it has helped me understand the subject matter much more clearly and was very enlightening and educational, without reading like a text book. Highly recommend for those interested.

Refreshingly hopeful and optimistic
‘Climate Change and the road to Net-Zero’ offers a well presented overview of the situation we’re in and the challenges we face. Hampshire-Waugh’s roadmap to net-zero is encouraging, and it outlines a brighter future for us all. A comprehensive and fascinating read.

Too scientific
The book goes into too much detail as to how the statistical models demonstrate temperature rise. It felt like a university text book. The arguments made are clearly well proven but doesn't make an easy read.

An essential read on the climate problem and how we can solve it
I just finished ‘There is no planet B’ by Mike berners-lee and wanted to dig further into the economics of climate change so I read this book and was not disappointed. Lots of information, all clearly set out, and it covers all aspects of the climate problem and how we solve it. I’d highly recommend reading!

Mathew does an incredible job articulating a past to present view regarding the climate history of our planet to set the stage and follows through is his balanced assessment of the science behind climate change, the effects on our planet and society and possible future scenarios based on different approaches. The most valuable part from my perspective is that he goes beyond simply saying where we're likely headed but offers tangible solutions and explores both the effectiveness and the economics of those solutions. What I really appreciated about his work is that it's not that of a climate alarmist; Mathew's approach is one of science and sense and this is what is needed to wake those up who still believe that climate change and the consequences that come with it, don't exist and aren't already happening. Bravo Mathew!

This is a thorough, well documented account of the effects of years of burning fossil fuels. The technology to go green exists. The question is whether people will accept the changes which must come about to save the planet and humanity. More people need to read this book.

If there is just one book you read on the topic, then it should be this one! It is a comprehensive and compact book at the same time. I still use this book to look things up. Highly recommended!!!

This is a much "deeper" dive into Climate change than this year's Bill Gates book (which is also good), but with better technical datail. Well done, Mathew!
