Useful dooberry
I built a PC last year, and used a ASSUS Motherboard that accepts ASSUS' ThunderboltEX 4 Card. It works - but is a bit Heath Robinson. In order to connect to my Video card I have to externally plumb into DP ports either from the Motherboard or in my build a Graphics card, since I have one installed. The kit comes with short DP to mini DP leads to facilitate two connections, both of which can drive five thunderbolt devices in a daisy chain. Directions are included which were easy to follow, but didn't mention connecting the power port at the top rear of the card, I connected this with a lead to my power supply anyway since it was there. Otherwise there are two internal cables; one for the Thunderbolt header on the Motherboard, and a second to an adjacent USB 2 header. The Card works. In conclusion - this was pretty much what I expected, but as ever check your motherboard supports this card.

Misleading promotional material!!!!!! Garbage
This is not compatible with the ASUS x570 motherboards where you would need it. It only works with H570. THIS IS LAST PRODUCT FROM ASUS, UP WITH APPLE FOR THE WORST COMPANY WHEN IT COMES TO UPDATING YOUR SYSTEM!!! SCAM DON'T BUY THIS!

Works great!
I have been looking to add Thunderbolt to my computer for a while now for my use case, this card has allowed me to connect a Wacom tablet to my computer (Wacom Cintiq 13 Pro) without needing to use any additional cables and all power, display and touch via one cable only! Great product.

A major headache
I had high hopes for this product but unfortunately since buying it, it has been nothing but a major headache. I have paired it with a Asus B650E-E AM5 motherboard in hopes of taking advantage of the thunderbolt header but it has been a technical issue nightmare. Off the bat it was not clear how to set up as I had to change some BIOS settings for which I literally could not find any documentation anywhere! Then I had to scour the internet to get the Thunderbolt driver. Afterwards, I tried to connect it to my OWC thunderbolt 4 dock but I immediately ran into an issue where the dock would not be recognised on start-up or wake unless it was plugged out and plugged in again. I confirmed this was an issue with the card since the dock functions perfectly with my laptop. Then there are the issues where sometimes the card refuses to read a device connected to one of its two slots or where a Thunderbolt 4 drive would only write at a maximum of 400 MB per second where the same drive would exceed 2GB per second on my laptop. All in all, in the rare occasions when it works, it can work as expected but more often than not, this product has been a headache. I cannot recommend it.

Fantastic card, amazing performance!
Built a PC with Asus Z690 board for event live streaming and video production, and this card has been amazing for adding Thunderbolt 3 & 4 (and occasionally Thunderbolt 2) devices. One thing to remember, with bus powered devices like Blackmagic Design “Recorder 3G” or the “Monitor 3G” is that you can’t “hot-swap” them like you can with a Thunderbolt laptop…..you need to plug the device in before starting the computer, then it runs beautifully….. Powered (with power supply) devices can be hot-swapped just fine (Sonnet chassis etc…) Amazing, and very powerful addition to what is already a beast of a computer :) You need to follow the instructions very closely when setting up, the card itself draws extra power from a USB2 header on the motherboard (which loses one of the computer case USB2 inputs…which is fine) and you need the Thunderbolt header on the motherboard….easy peasy, and performance is nothing short of magnificent and solid. I don’t bother with the (supplied) video cables, as my NVidia card has all the outputs I need for monitors. Perfect addition to the Asus motherboard, and a trusty workhorse
