Will this work for a 45-70 govt?

I bought mine specifically for .45-70 usage & it works great!

Does this need to be weighted down?

It does not require any weights however you should visit hyskore's website and view the videos so that you have a good understanding of how it works

How well dose this work with pistol grib rifles like the ruger precision rifle in 6.5 creedmoor? Does the rest work or will the pistol grip hit bench

I use this bench for my S&W MP 15, which is an AR style with pistol grip. It will fit fine.

i want to purchase optional spring pack. can't find. were to buy ?

According to the Hyskore web site, the optional spring pack (can be purchased from HYSKORE®) #30080-10 , installed, it will handle light recoiling guns such as .223 / 5.56, .22-250, etc.
