I’ve noticed the fragrance stays with me through most of the day, and I rarely need to reapply, even in this Arizona heat. It does what it promises and keeps me feeling dry. It neutralizes odor without masking it with heavy perfume. The texture is smooth and glides on easily, thanks to the traditional roll-on stick format. I love that it’s packaged like conventional deodorant, which makes it super convenient to use and no scooping or rubbing with your fingers, just twist and apply. It’s also a neutral color, so it won’t stain clothes or leave bright streaks, although I do try to apply it carefully to avoid minor residue. I’ve been really impressed with this magnesium infused deodorant. It’s incredibly effective at keeping me feeling fresh throughout the day, even during busy or more active moments. I switched to Magnesium-based deodorants about 3-3.5 years ago. I've tried several brands which were too coarse to apply or just didn't spread/too dry or hard, but instead caked onto the armpits of my t-shirt (Schmidt's charcoal). I've tried some that just didn't work worth a darn (Native, Tom's, and the Walmart copy of Tom's, Every Man Jack). I've tried Arm & Hammer's aluminum free deodorant (no magnesium though) and it didn't last long enough. Didn't smell that great either. The Tom's brand really stinks, so "deodorant" is a misnomer. It should be called "odor replacer." I've tried Nfuse mountain scent, although it didn't smell like a mountain spring. It's strong in scent and seems to work really well, but it's a gel and you smell it all day. I wanted a stick deodorant that applied smoothly like the Dove anti-perspirant deodorant I used to wear. Like Crystal, NFuse is too expensive. Ultimately I landed on Ivory and their hint of aloe scent. It applies on your body with the same consistency as any other deodorant stick, it lasts for a long time, and it smells good without being too strong. Their coconut scent's not bad either. It was under $5/stick until Bidenomics/massive inflation took effect. I order the Ivory Hint of Aloe 4 packs here on Amazon for about $23. I stumbled across Crystal on Amazon and decided to give the charcoal & tea tree scent a try. The tea tree smell is a little strong at first; I prefer the charcoal scent portion more. It glides on easy and 28 hours later, I still don't have any underarm BO. It's been very effective and the scent is good. I'll go for a bike ride later today and really test it out. My only knock on this product is the price. At $14.32/stick, it's not affordable and there are much cheaper and very effective alternatives. It may not be as expensive as those deodorant sticks you buy at the department store that match your cologne/after shave, but still very pricey. Going through a stick per month, even with inflation, I can buy a year's supply of Ivory magnesium deodorant in 4 packs for just under $69, before taxes. A year's supply of Crystal is $169, before taxes. If they could get the price down to even $7-$8, I'd give them a 5* rating and use it daily. UPDATE: This stuff works the best of any magnesium deodorant I've tried but it's a poor value. I'm not going to spring $14.32/deodorant stick for Crystal when I can buy Ivory sticks for $5.75/stick. That's 60% less money for a product that's 90+% as effective, with only the added hassle of remembering to put your shirt on first to keep it from leaving streaks on your clothes. UPDATE 2: I still say Crystal makes the best, longest-lasting magnesium deodorant stick of all. My first application lasted 28+ hours. Unfortunately, like most deodorants, your body accommodates. I found the crystal charcoal scent on sale for $10/stick so I bought 2 more of them. I used it daily, and it only lasts about 7-8 hours now. You don't end up with a Pig-Pen cloud of BO around you, but if you smell your pits, they will smell sweaty. Most people won't get up in your pits, but when you lie down on the couch after coming home from work and your lady lies down with you, she probably doesn't want her face close to your sweaty-smelling pits. Like most non-antiperspirant deodorants, you have to apply it a second time during the day to be fully effective for 10-12 hours.

This deodorant used to be a smooth solid, now there's little rough crystals of what looks like Himalayan salt mixed into the stick and it HURTS SO BAD to apply! Scrapes my armpits and causes BAD inflammation. Still smells nice and seems to function properly in keeping odor away, but I'm not going to lose the skin on my armpits to accomplish this. This must be a manufacturing error (I've seen at least one other review stating this same problem) because no one in their right mind would sell EXFOLIATING deodorant, not to this extreme degree. Reminds me of sugar scrub, but is PAINFUL to apply. Please, fix, Crystal! Or DON'T SELL. I'd give zero stars if I could because, if you can't apply your deodorant, how can it work?

I have been using another magnesium deodorant for years. But that deodorant has nearly doubled in price recently, and I cannot justify paying $20 for ONE deodorant. So I took a chance and decided to use this. I was also taking a chance because I was going on a week long trip to Georgia, where the temps were projected to be in the 90’s (which it unfortunately was:( ). I am happy to say that this deodorant works! It does not contain baking soda ( which is great, because I am allergic), but somehow it still kept me smelling UNLIKE a shallot. Which is awesome for me and everyone around me! The scent of this deodorant is very light, so I did not mind it at all. I sweated a TON, but still did not stink. This doesn’t keep you from sweating, but does keep you from stinking. It did not leave a residue on any of my clothing, and my skin was super soft at the end of the sweaty week. It was easy to use, and applied very smoothly. It also seems like the container will last a long time, because you really do not use much each time. While it is still $10, it is natural, with much better ingredients than the commercial brands. I think I have found my new de-stinkifier!

Edited, and took my rating from 5⭐️ down to 3 ⭐️. Unfortunately after I reached the halfway point of the deodorant, it actually started to be less effective. Eventually I was applying it at minimum twice, sometimes 3 times a day, and the dreaded stench from deodorant that doesn’t work was there. SMH. So disappointed. So my journey continues to find a clean, healthy deodorant that doesn’t make me stink! 😳😧🤦‍♀️ I love the ingredients, and wish it lived up to my original review. Unfortunately I’ve moved on and found something else that will hopefully work instead I’m about a quarter into it, so fingers crossed! 🤞 ——————————————————— Okay, I know I’m sounding a little over the top here, but hear me out! I was worried it wouldn’t be effective or have a cloying smell and was so wrong on both counts!! This is the first deodorant I’ve ever used that did not boast saying it would last far longer than one day (and never does) but this one smells good, and not only is it effective, but it actually lasts longer than a day! And my clothes don’t smell of deodorant that failed, in fact they don’t smell at all. So sold on this deodorant! Woot! And the fact that it doesn’t have all the scary junk in it either - yup, this one will be going on auto-ship once I figure out how long a stick lasts me. But I can tell you, not having to reapply it late afternoon/early evening is really nice, and reassuring! The price - I was a little hesitant, but it is so worth it too. Great product!

I contacted the company about my sticks being grainy and they sent me 2 replacement items right away. Great customer service! It took me years to find a product that doesn't irritate me so I was very disappointed when it arrived grainy. I think it was a bad batch. Thank you, great product and service!!

Experience: This was a huge surprise. It is completely non-greasy and dries quickly, leaving a subtle white dry residue (like baby powder) that feels very clean. The fragrance-free version is great, and the scented one is subtle. The Catch: Not widely available; you usually have to buy directly from their site, so shipping and handling fees will add to the cost. High Performance (4 Stars) • Salt and Stone (Bergamot and Hinoki): ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Performance: 12+ hours. The scent is the best of all products tested, but it is not subtle; it is strong and it will cling to your clothes all day. Experience: Very effective, but the grease feeling is real and the baking soda eventually caused significant redness for me. Excellent customer service though; they sent a sensitive version for free. • Gymati Fitness Spray: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Performance: 8+ hours of protection. Experience: A sporty scent that replaces the need for cologne. It is a quick-dry spray with no grease or stains. The Catch: Because it is a spray, it has the tallest container of the bunch. It takes up more space in a gym bag or desk drawer. The Middle Ground • Kokoa Botanics: ⭐⭐⭐ Performance: 8+ hours. Experience: This was the only plastic-free container I tested. However, it is very temperature dependent; if it is not warm enough, it crumbles in your armpit. The sweet scent transfers to your shirt and intensifies the longer you wear it. The Catch: Not widely available besides directly from their website, so shipping and handling will add to the cost. • Salt and Stone (Sensitive): ⭐⭐⭐ Performance: 6+ hours. Experience: Solved the irritation but the protection dropped. It feels grease-heavy on application and does not dry fast enough before putting a shirt on. Scent is more subtle than the original formula. The Low-Protection Group • Clearly FRESH Magnesium Roll-On: ⭐⭐ Experience: Initial protection decreases quickly through time.
