I’m honestly super impressed with this primer. The finish is incredibly smooth and uniform—even with just one or two coats, it levels out beautifully and makes everything look clean and professional. It covers really well and helps the paint adhere perfectly on top. What I love most is how forgiving it is. Even if your base isn’t perfect, this primer evens things out and makes the final result look polished. It dries nicely and doesn’t leave weird streaks or texture. Definitely a must-have if you want your project to look neat and high quality. I’ll 100% keep using it!

I have built scale car models since I was a kid then graduated to bigger models and RC cars. I never once used a primer, even on "body work" I'd done to smooth things out. I tried this primer and Tamiya's grey primer on a Sand Scorcher body and was floored - it laid down beautifully and left behind a super-fine, smooth surface for the paint to adhere to, and covered the sanding marks and Tamiya putty work perfectly w/o filling in the molded body details. Gave me a consistent pure-white body surface for the color coat, which also laid down perfectly. No problems at all. I highly recommend using this primer before painting any bare plastic.

Worked great on my 3-D print! The finish was amazing. The consistency was great. It was easy to apply and the durability is amazing because none of the paint scratched off.

Great primer, covers well & drys fast.

I've always liked using Tamiya brand products and this white primer is always part of my kit. The fine spray covers nicely yet doesn't cover the fine details in plastic model kits. The trick is to warm up the can with warm or hot water from the tap in a container for a few minutes. The paint can spray a finer mist and flows smoothly. I've also used the gray and black primers with success. One star less for the price, as this tends to get pricey when I'm working on multiple projects at a time. Plus, I've seen prices a little cheaper at my local hobby shops. Five stars for the product itself.

So I have only ever used brush on primers, black is great an smooth, but white,,,,white brush on is awful, it bubbles, it takes a lot of detail away, or it is very/ very uneven, no matter how much time you spend trying to get it right, So after doing a ton of research this hands down seemed like the best option, especially for someone that doesn't wanna spend 25 or 30 bucks for some spray paint, also it doesn't feel like you sacrificing because of the lower cost, It is really smooth, easy to apply after shaking for a min or 2, an who doesn't love that sound, it is a bright white that will definitely brighten up a thinned down paint you put on top of it, One of citadels might be a bit more bright, but from reviews of it and the fact that the slightly more bright citadel one is mainly for contrast paint, reg mini paint seems to slide off it according to reviewers because of how contrast paint is made to run an seek recesses, so that primer is formulated for that kind of paint, and it is about 10 bucks more, The army painter one looks OK, but it also has a lot of bad reviews an also costs almost 10 dollars more, Witch for a newer painter who isn't 100 percent invested quite yet, or that has already spent a ton on the many other supplies you need to get into the hobby, This is a no brainer for a great white spray primer, Just give this one a try, I seriously doubt you will be disappointed.

This primer is perfect for resin printed minis and smaller parts! The spray is much finer than hardware store spray on primers and creates fine coats that don’t distort the small details of prints. It goes on smooth and creates a fantastic finish that really makes the details pop on the model. It seems to dry pretty quickly and I’ve had no issues applying multiple coats before letting the parts dry. I’ve tried both hardware store spray primers and brush on primers, and this stuff is both faster and better quality! It may be more expensive but it’s well worth it!

Every miniature paint maker makes their own primers. And if you're looking at the reviews on Tamiya primers, you've probably used at least one or two from (sounds like) James Herpdrop or Ah-mee Tayntor. In no way am I slamming their products, as I use them myself at least semi-regularly. But the truth is that once you try a can of Tamiya primer, you're going to be spoiled forever. These are extremely high quality primers with top-tier adhesion and coverage. Most importantly, the coverage is smooth as can be. Even in colder or warmer than normal conditions, these primers go on very nicely with no pebbling or gaps. As long as you know how to prime and have a little practice at it, these are practically foolproof. And having your minis primed at this kind of quality makes all the difference once you start painting. If you're not ready to leap to an airbrush or if you really never plan to use one, Tamiya really is as good as it gets. Their primers really are the gold standard.
